Shur-i-kan (Freerange Records / Dark Energy / NRK / Urbantorque)
Back to the yard! Special, 13th edition of Canalia Night will be held at CityHall Club.
In his yard to be exact. If you remember last year's event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bJai6LXI_I
You can expect a massive party, because that's the only way to celebrate the first 2012 outdoor event.
In the astonishing scenery of starry sky, garden leprechauns, flowers and soap bubbles we will welcome Shur-I-Kan from London.
He started his romance with music as a keyboard player for local bands in London's jazz and funk circle.
A breakthrough in the career of Tom Szirtes aka Shur-I-Kan came when his talent was discovered by legendary DJ and producer Tom Middleton - composition "Niomi's Dream" placed by him on a legendary compilation "Jedi's Night Out" immediately put the young Briton of Hungarian origin in the spotlight of the brightest stars of the club world such as Gilles Peterson or LTJ Bukem.
Thanks to Middleton, Shur-I-Kan quickly came under the wings of widely appreciated London-based label Freerange led by Jimpster. To date he realeased two albums with Freerange - "Advance" in 2001 and "Waypoints" three years later. He also produced a solid collection of deephouse EPs, of which "Generations", "Living Inside," "I Want It" and lately "Future Fantasy" deserve a special attention. Not only is he a popular producer, Tom is also a widely respected remixer. You may have heard his collaborations with Akabu, Milton Jackson, MANIK, Robert Babicz or Motorcitysoul.
