Sadly it’s the last Elev-8 event of 2007, yet another mental year has just flown by…
But…
It’s always best to go out with a BANG, so with that in mind we have one last mega party before we call it a day for 2007. This time it’s on a Friday so you’ve got two days to work off that hangover before dragging your arse back to work. As a one of this last event is going to be a Santa Themed Christmas Party (Yes, we know its only Nov but who cares, let the Christmas Carnage begin!!).
To help us into the festive spirit we have a cracker of a line-up, with Krakajax London based decks and effect wizards, DarftPhunk taking over the breaks room plus Nez & Ian Carman of D*tached, the famous Dj Elzo plus The Fox and Hedflux.
Who Are Krakajax?
Teo
Blunted and on a soul 2 reel Mission. As a mix and scratch DJ his ear was drawn to any phat beat or driving baseline that he could Lay his grubby mitts on. Some call it a "bad habit" some even say he is The top hobo of collecting those rare tracks Hidden in the boots of 1p record stalls..... After many years of hiding away locked in the basement....he honed his Scratch skills and burst onto the scene in 2002....and has been a non stop rollercoaster from dance floor to dance floor layering old school scratches over their Bouncy Electro Sets, and mixing some of the games finest tunes.
Wes De Leur
Wes has been lurking around the club scene for a number of years. With his wizardry behind the decks he is able to transform any normal Night Into a complete and utter frenzy. With over 11years of DJing experience under his belt he is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the dance music Industry. Wade Davis
his signature style is a fusion of Electro, Break beats & Prog Electro he is known for his fluent beat mixing and loves to reconstruct sounds. Wade is a true dance music addict who loves doing what he loves best DJing. Who Is Darftphunk?
Rising like the phoenix from the centre of culture that is Peterborough, Darftphunk (Steve to his mum) has been secretly conducting all many of strange experiments in the studio of Darftphunk. Steve, no stranger to the world of Djing, has been playing for nearly 16 years, after being raised on a strict diet of Motown, funk and soul he pulled the face that we pulled when he first heard house music back in the day and from that point on he was hooked. After his friends entering him in a DJ competition he took part and won, this comp was being run by none other than Nick Slater (Drumattic Twins/Shades Of Rhythm), Steve went on to become one of the residents at a weekly night called Bungalow (it’s a different kind of house) and played alongside many great jocks (Norman Jay, Krafty Kuts, Freddy Fresh, Rennie Pilgrim, Plump DJs to name but a few). After enjoying 4 happy years, Bungalow finally closed its doors and Steve was out on his ear and Darftphunk was born. Biting the bullet Steve worked the streets to get enough cash together to get a studio going, after emerging to what seemed like a year (more a week really) Steve was wise in the ways of programming. 2005 saw DarftPhunk unleash his various beasts on CDR and which were snapped up by Chris and Jonny from Splank! Records which lead to a remix of “Myagis - Release The Hounds” which got the nod from many of breaks leading men (and women).
