Forget the traditional interview process, Departure is unconventional by nature. We're looking to recruit several PRs for the coming season the only way we know how, on the dance floor. Come down to Itaca from 10pm and meet the team behind Departure. If we like you we'll hire you, its as simple as that.

Please Bring

A short CV with a picture of you on it

/// Ryan O'Gorman

In the last year Ryan's residency with We Love Space has taken him from the Red Box (the room he hosts with Burlington Project for We Love) to the coveted Space Terrace, supporting acts like Ame, Dixon, Tensnake and Groove Armada. The dynamic range of his music also saw him warming up for artists like Technasia and Jeff Mills in the cavernous Discotheque.

His label Vitalik Recordings took on a very special project, having been asked to compile the We Love Space CD earlier this year, Vitalik undertook compiling the mix from entirely unreleased material. Music from Martin Buttrich, Appleblim, The Mole, Pezzner and Ryan himself appeared on the compilation.

In addition to the We Love Space CD he mixed with label pal jozif, limited edition white vinyl samplers of the compilation also went on sale through Vitalik Recordings. In addition to his recent studio work for artists like Mark Henning, JUG, Robert Cashin +++ upcoming remixes for Maya Jane Coles and Rui Da Silva, he has put out a series of critically acclaimed EP's out on his Vitalik imprint under his xxxx production alias. Looking further into 2012 a schedule of releases are planned with artists like Vakula, Paul Loraine and Hatikvah plus a string of London show's at London club's like Fabric and Ministry....

Prologue….

In ’99, a n-n-n-n-nineteen year old Ryan O Gorman arrived in Ibiza. Having just completed sound engineering studies at college in Northern Ireland he was in search of something radically different; Ibiza was an easy choice for a young lad with a box of records and a penchant for a party... In the decade that passed he established some of Ibiza’s finest alternative/pirate radio stations, he organized some of the Islands most memorable outdoor free parties and has constantly pioneered new music through his various creations, most notably Electricsex, Vitalik and most recently Burlington Project and Vitalik Recordings.

Be it radio or playing records, music production or throwing a party, he has shunned the path of convention in an effort to create something significant and different. The absence of any electronic or alternative radio precipitated his first radio station in Ibiza, the departure of the full moon parties in the late noughties brought about the notorious Cave Raves and the complete void of good music in San Antonio brought about Electricsex at Eden. The latter ran from midnight until noon the following day. In its first year Ryan regularly played the full 12 hours alone. Many prestigious guests have graced the decks since then, their line-ups being some of the most forward thinking and diverse in Ibiza. Electricsex made an electronic sound that was alien to many people at the time accessible by virtue of Ryan and Andy Gs (Electricsex dj partner and then resident at Bora Bora) experience of making people dance on a daily basis; an ability that every hard working resident Ibiza dj should possess.

Vitalik on the other hand was an extension of the free parties Ryan threw with Joe Upton (founding member of NastyDirtySexMusic) and was more deeply rooted. ‘We Love…’ with their intuitive knowledge for a good thing, invited the pair to take over the Redbox at Space in ’06. They were sufficiently impressed to invite them back to host the cavernous discotheque of Space the following year, these parties were huge but fell victim to Ibiza’s new licensing laws in 2008. Over the years of throwing parties and playing music, the resulting osmosis gave birth to the Burlington Project in 2008. This being the Casio backed online music magazine which Ryan developed and runs as a website, and tours as a musical/event concept.

/// Claudia Lovisa

Most notably renowned as one half of successful DJ and production duo Amelie, 2010 has seen Claudia making huge waves in her own right, as a solo artist on the international underground music scene.

Claudia – who took up permanent residence in Ibiza in 2010 – has spent much of the year locked away in the studio, honing and fine-tuning her undeniably addictive sounds. Sexy jackin tech, Upfront and engaging house packed with solid grooves, standout melodies, and a true underground edge.

Her fluid, intriguing sets have resulted in a huge demand for Claudia to perform all around the world, from clandestine underground parties to the world’s biggest clubs. Standout gigs include the Miami WMC, San Juan Festival at Sonar, Germany’s Love Parade, Rooftop Moscow, Vertigo in Costa Rica, D-Edge in Brazil, Mamitas Beach Club in Playa del Carmen, Gotica in Columbia and Pacha Ibiza. Her mixing skills have enabled her to play along side luminaries like Steve Bug, Audiofly, Konrad Black, Damian Lazarus, Nick Curly and Robert Dietz.

She’s come along way since her teenage years, back in her hometown of Durban, South Africa. At the tender age of 15, Claudia – who is also of Italian descent – was first introduced to house music through an older group of friends involved in the local music scene. Her keen passion for vinyl and mixing developed as She spent hours hanging around the DJ booth of her favourite club listening to UK and US house and she was heavily inspired by the infectious sound and attitude of the music.

In 2000, the 19-year old packed her bags for London and took her first steps on a dedicated musical career path, quickly scoring a string of residencies and guest slots across London, including clubs like The Cross, The End and numerous other east end parties such as Retox.

In 2006 Claudia crossed paths with DJ Sophie Oliver and embarked on a Music Production course at the SAE institute of London and further formed the duo known as Amelie.

Claudia soon found her feet as a producer and Amelie were signed to Audiofly’s Supernature Label with their first release in 2008, ‘Under the Radar’, a collaboration with Audiofly. With rave reviews, The girls went on to remix for fellow supernature artists Alex Niggeman, Fabbio Gianelli, Kabuto & Koji and released other remixes and ep’s on labels such as Uberbeat , 1trax and SK Supreme.

Looking forward into 2011, Claudia is focusing on solo projects with her debut EP due to be released in the next few months, touring and will also continue to host the Supernature podcast under the Amelie moniker.
