House connoisseurs & lovers, following the HUGE success of KINGS OF HOUSE at Proud 2 on Saturday 4th February, we would first of all like to thank the 1400 patrons that came out in the snow to join us on the launch night. This was a true testament to how far house music has gone since the early 80’s. As the world zooms in on London in preparation for the Olympics, the Kings of House team will organise an event that is second to none in any walk of life. House music is love, House music is happy, house music brings people together, house music is uplifting and most importantly house music is a movement. Kings of House will again continue to celebrate the legacy of pure, simple, true underground HOUSE….

Lazaro Casanova is a full time groove-making producer, DJ, & label owner. A brooklyn art school drop-out who was always deeply immersed in music one way or the other. Hailing from Miami, FL he has gone from considering dance music as a cheesy taboo to single-handedly being a trend setter in house music. Establishing himself as a highly regard- ed DJ & Producer with a global stage.

In 2004 being a weekly resident at the infamous 7-year old Revolver party in Miami, Casanova caught his first glimpse of the touring life. He was recruited by electro masters MSTRKRFT to join them on tour with The Juan Maclean (DFA) across the country of Canada. Casanova continued to impress his new audiences, in turn focosuing the spotlight onto himself.

In 2008 seeking a platform to develop his unique sound Lazaro Casanova launched his own record label, pet- Food. With notable constant support from the likes of Oscar G, Nic Fanciulli, Seth Troxler, Matt Tolfrey, Lee Curtis, Dj Three, X-Press 2, Radio Slave, Adultnapper (among countless others) Casa- nova has proven his musical range to reach all crevices of dance music. Casanova since then has been welcomed into a broad range of record labels spanning from Nervous Records to Leftroom records. Also sparking remix requests from all ends of the music spectrum. With Lazaro Casanova there is no such thing as ‘underground’ or ‘mainstream’ there is only good house music in its rawest and purest form.

This isn’t your typical fairy-tale with a hopeful promise of a forever after, but the story about a young girl poised and destined by song to be the next big thing to come out of Africa. Maleh’s (Malehloka Mary Hlalele) musical journey began in the heart of the majestic mountain kingdom of Lesotho where she was born and raised.

The songstresses professional singing career took off during her final high school year when she joined Afro pop group Kaya which released it's debut album Kunzima, winning the Metro Fm best newcomer award in 2005. Later left Kaya to further her studies at a film college in Johannesburg, where she majored in Cinematography.
After graduating Maleh was working behind the music scenes freelancing as an event coordinator for music festivals. However it seemed it would not be long till the stage would call the songbird back.

Working for one of South Africa’s most prominent Jazz festival Standard Bank Joy of Jazz. “ I was most inspired by artists like Chriss Botti and Laila Hathaway that night and I knew that getting back on the stage and reviving my singing career was what I needed to do if I was going to find purpose in my life” After a few years in corporate, this talent was back on the airwaves with hit collaborations including Dj Qness " Uzongilinda & Time " Dj Ganyani " Not so Far" and Dj Kent " Falling".

Influenced by the sounds of the South Beach Club scene of the early 90’s the soulful and versatile voice of Jei is a powerhouse ready to take you onto the dance floor yet capable of soothing your senses into ecstasy. Born in Miami, Florida to working class Cuban immigrant parents, in true Taurus form this young artist’s ambition and talents began to shine early on when she was five years old. After a beautiful performance in front of a large crowd at a school event, Jei receives her first standing ovation and triggered her parents to realize and begin to nourish her artistic talents with singing and piano lessons. Continuing on her path to accomplish her dream she auditioned and performed on MTV’s Spring Break, American Idol 2003 where she showed her talents and was exposed to millions on TV coming in second place…MTV Reps were extremely impressed by her high energy performance and invited her back to other venues. At this same time Jei was introduced to the thriving underground house music scene in Miami in such clubs as Space. It was there that she met Edgar V, Oscar G, Ralph Falcon, Charlie Solana and Sammy O. From then on Jei worked on her craft by performing in the top clubs with Hot Jam Entertainment developing her style and craft. Leading up to recording ’’ Enlevez- Moi’’ with DJ Christian Falero on Sydney Blu’s label Blu Music. It was then Jei ran into Ralph Falcon and he thought she was finally ready to shine. From that session ‘’Amame’’ was born, and was released as single on vinyl format to commemorate their 20 year anniversary, May 2011 on Nervous Records. The International Dance Music Awards has nominated Jei for the International hit ''Amame” by Intruder ''MURK'' Nominated for Best House/Garage/Deep House Track. Whether she’s on the stage, tv, radio or blasting in a club system near you. Jei is a force to be reckoned with.
