Spotlight shines bright as the place to find quality house and electro in the heart of East London. Each month we feature cutting-edge underground DJs and live acts that provide a fresh, futuristic soundtrack to your Saturday night.

For JJ Gullo, playing other producers’ music was never enough. He decided to mix things up and start performing live – with great success. A creative, hard-working talent with a distinctive sound, he’s already wowed crowds at the Street Parade festivals in Bologna and Zurich. Catch him doing his live thing for the first time at Spotlight.

Joining JJ’s live performance will be Afrodite, award-winning singer/song-writer and performing arts graduate. Currently working on an electro EP featuring her soulful and funked-up harmonies, this is one vocalist to watch – and hear!

Adding something a little bit different, Jenny Sutton will be performing on flute
Jenny began playing the flute in 2000 and studied Classical Music throughout her education, graduating in 2010 with a BMus from Goldsmiths College. Since finishing university, Jenny has enjoyed playing and recording with a rich mix of musicians, including the Pigeon Heroes, an eclectic folk band, and Afrodizzie, a collaborative project based in South East London which incorporates traditional African genres with more contemporary pop. Jenny met with Maskik Records in 2009, collaborating mainly on studio-based projects.

K2 Tone is duo Franky Ligorio and JJ Gullo, who’ll be DJing back to back on the 333 decks. These two have had their ears to the underground for years, and know the score when it comes to mixing up a storm for the dancefloor or releasing tracks for Maskik Records. Expect them to bring the noise!
