The third week of May, Crimson Lounge will presents not one but two nights of Commonwealth on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24 for two back-to-back nights of quality, underground music. On Wednesday, May 23 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Commonwealth will feature LA-based producer and DJ Parrish James alongside resident DJ and White Label co-founder Sadie Woods.

PARRISH JAMES

Los Angeles based DJ/producer Parrish James got his star as one half of the producer/DJ duo ‘Groove Junkies.’ During that time, Parrish gained strong support from industry icons such as Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, David Morales, Roger S., Ben Watt, and Dennis Ferrer. With this level of heavyweight support behind the duo, the Groove Junkies launched numerous assaults on global dance charts with original releases such as ‘Deeper,’ ‘Gonna Get By,’ ‘Oh Lord,’ ‘Music's Gotcha Jumpin,’ ‘Devotion,’ ‘Life Is What You Make It,’ ‘So Damn Crazy,’ ‘Work It Out,’ ‘Dr. Feelgood,’ and ‘In The Zone,’ as well as contributing to the output on labels such as Island/Def Jam, A&M, Warner Bros, RCA, J Records, Ultra, Defected, Definity, Om Records, Soulfuric, Mn2S, and Buzzin’ Fly. As a result of Parrish’s contributions, numerous Groove Junkies original productions and remixes have been licensed to Defected ITH, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, OM, Seamless, and MN2S. After eight years with Groove Junkies, Parrish parted company in 2009 to explore new creative horizons. In addition to his chart topping original productions, Parrish has contributed work on mixed compilations such as the best-selling Bargrooves ‘Mimosa’ CD (Seamless), the critically acclaimed ‘House of Om’ and ‘Summer Sessions’ (Om), the ultra hip ‘After Dark/Los Angeles’ (Kinkysweet), and ‘Late Night with Groove Junkies’ (Swank). Parrish has also contributed work to remixes for various artists including Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Pussycat Dolls, Deborah Cox, Leela James, Frankie Knuckles, and Ben Watt. He travels steadily around the world, enjoying repeat gigs at clubs like the world-famous Pacha in Ibiza and Ben Watt’s former clubs (Neighbourhood and Cherry Jam) in London.
