Although we seem to have had a few of them over the last six month’s – 4 day weekends will scarcely do anything other than bring a pretty huge and increasingly royalist smile to one’s face.
And here at FeedYourEars HQ we like to think that what we’ve planned to kick things off on Friday June 1st will be the perfect way to jump straight in at the deep end.
Before the site goes live later in the summer we felt we should do the proper thing and throw a party showcasing the kind of talent we recon is going to be big this summer.
Those who have been to Brixton Clubhouse will know that its Balearic terraces and speaker filled main room certainly don’t mess around.
So, that we hope is the venue box well and truly ticked. Behind the decks we’ve booked 4 up and coming artists who play an eclectic mix of House / Techno and everything in between ( have a peak at Ben’s forthcoming ‘ What I Might Do ‘ if you fancy a premature wetting of the whistle )
Tickets are limited so grab them early and we’ll see you down there – there may even be the odd special guest……Oooooh the suspence x PEACE
As a producer, already in his first year he has been signed quickly to labels both UK and international. Under The Shade, Digital Delight and Louder Music all coming up in early 2012. The lead track for his EP on Under The Shade is being highly supported by Solomun in the last few months; the release is due out on 12" and digital this summer. We are super hyped to have Ben on board for FYE 001 , expect to see and hear a lot more of this man – he’s a massive talent.
A man who needs no introduction having put out a few very tidy releases on Jesse Rose’s Made to Play , we think XLR8R got it about right when they described him as : "Showing a flair for rhythm and texture, the young artist carves a methodical path trough rich soundscapes, brooding bass, and trance-inducing drum patterns, resulting in a powerful outing where the vibe floats between meditatively introspective and deeply dance-worthy. Graphics seems poised to propel his name into forward-thinking electronic music circles..." Although we’re not sure what a few of those words mean – he’s without doubt another one to watch and we’re stoked he’ll be joining us.
DeadEcho is a combined effort from East London regulars Rob Bradley and Adam Firman . 2011 saw them not only release on their own highly respected Save You imprint but also leading Techno label FVF Records and super Spanish label Flumo Recordings to much acclaim. So much so that in 2012 they have dropped / are dropping EPs on two of their favourite labels on the planet, the booming and boundary pushing My Favorite Robot Records and Audiofly’s first class Supernature. Rolling baselines and sharp trebles make these two an obvious choice for our first party .
Eli & Fur
Eli & Fur bring a lot more than good looks to the occasion ( and my oh my do they do that well) Having been confirmed to play dimentions festival this summer ( which is organised by the guys behind Outlook ) it seems we aren’t the only people backing these two to achieve big things. With Nick Fanciulli remixing their latest offering and a huge amount of interest over the last few months we’re lucky to have them on board. Nice !
