Four Tet Curated Brixton All Nighter
Nevermind1984wroteWed, 07 Nov 2012I didn't like the night either. The sound was pretty poor and the atmosphere wasn't good at all. More like a concert than a club event. Security all over the place keep flashing lights and no visual or any installation at all. But the weirdest thing was that it was extremely cold! It was gelid in there and people had to dance all close together to not freeze. Quite a lame night!
HeatherawroteMon, 05 Nov 2012I didn’t get this night to be honest, there wasn’t any sort of beat until 1-2ish, not bad music but music you would hear Prins Thomas play at 11am.... but it wasn’t it was 1am... it didn’t work. When Four Tet and Caribou came on it got a little stranger as we all found out Four Tet cant mix?! Or pick music?! Every time Caribou would pick up the beat and play a couple of very well mixed tunes and then Four Tet would destroy it with a badly mixed slower tempo track?! It got laughable at... More
arronpotterwroteSun, 04 Nov 2012Yeah it was a little strange. Got there at 1ish and had missed all the Hessle Audio guys but Floating Points played a wicked set. Four Tet and Caribou was good too but James Holden just lost me to be honest. The reservations I had about Brixton Academy as a 'club venue' turned out to be right, sound is never great and it's hard to get an atmosphere going when the DJs are all the way up on that massive stage. Did like the dark room vibe though.
