The band are constantly looking for the right song, one’s that are etched into the crowd’s psyche. Throw in some rock, alternative, indie, pop, funky dance with some strong versatile vocals and an experienced dynamic line up that radiates energy and you’ve got yourself some chemistry.

Between them, they have recorded and gigged with 70′s/80′s soul/funk legends Odyssey and toured with Moby and The Counterfeit Stones.

After all it’s just about having fun , so just let go and get sucked in.

Positively a blast from the past with an intriguing contemporary sound.

MONDAY 4th JUNE

MIDDAY ONWARDS

PINEY GIR (LIVE)

The year is 1967, The Beatles' Strawberry Fields is your class song; you have your first high school yearbook in your small, hot hands. It's tough being a freshman, bottom of the totem pole, but you made it and you have your book to show for it. Stiff Technicolor smiles are frozen in time. The fact you were a mathlete for a semester is preserved with photographic evidence, you can't erase it now it's in the yearbook. And here comes the tricky part… asking that guy in your home-room to sign it. Blank back pages stare up at him while you wonder what is he going to write? He takes pen to paper, you watch as the ink spells out "Stay Sweet, have a cool summer." I wonder if he said that to all the girls?

Stay Sweet is Piney Gir's newest offering, an ethereal, Mellotron-infused soundscape with wall-of-sound guitars and filtered feedback worthy of the Velvet Underground. Piney revisits a memory, of love gone wrong with pangs of regret; an attempt to salvage youth's innocent mistakes. Here is a nod to life's sepia-tone pages of the past in this honest ballad that simply says "i'm sorry" and "always stay sweet."

MY YOUTH (LIVE)

A new and exciting folk / indie band based in London.
Having influences from the likes of The National, Arcade Fire, The XX and Bon Iver they have created original songs that are both upbeat and heartfelt as well as being instantly relatable and accessible.

The band was formed by Anna Lee Schmand Mallen and Sigurd Krogh Hammerum after meeting at London Music School in 2010. The pair quickly started to practice regularly together developing their first original material and starting to play shows acoustically around London. Recently a band has been put together to play live with but the pair still continue to stay true to their acoustic roots doing shows in both formats.

MR.DISFIT (LIVE)

In the history of popular music, the most successful twosomes have been those who have said what the people were feeling and said it in the loudest voice. Wanting to add themselves to the list of outspoken greats is Mr.DisFit. Mixing gospel-tinged vocals, chunky guitars and an introspective lyrical content this twosome have concocted a definitive debut effort that promises to leave listeners rocki...ng to the rhythms of their recklessness.

From their studio in East London, Ezra Tafari and Leonn Meade have long been disturbing genres, norms and rules in the evolution of a classic sound that evokes Prince in its hybridity as much as it does the Foo Fighters with its blatant defiance.
With a story that reads like an acute tale of triumph over adversity their songs cover a wide scope, dealing with issues ranging from run-ins with the law and hate crime to salvation and sexual misadventure.
“It makes you think. There’s an opportunity for real thought in this music,”says Meade.
Hypnotic, head-banging and chant-laden music that commits to the perfect mainstream balance of managing intimacy without being self-indulgent and outspoken without being political.

With their forthcoming release ‘The Line’ set for a mid-2012 release, Mr.DisFit intend to cement their position amongst the leaders of a new generation of self-sufficient artists, writing, producing and composing their own material and doing so at their own pace.

SUZANNE AUSTIN (Live)

An amazing new talent singer song writer performs new songs from her forthcoming album.
Folk being the new Rock N Roll prided itself on its purity, folk and rock combined into a new form of popular music, which is fast becoming hugely successful and influential.

9PM ONWARDS

SPEKTRUM (LIVE)

Spektrum are back to well and truly shake up the musical landscape with their cocktail of dark funk, seductively warped vocals and agitated dance-floor filling beats. Picture the basement of a dark seedy European club with Parliament, Liquid Liquid and the Tom Tom club doing musical battle with Munchi, Ruby Goe, Die Antwoord and Black Coffee.

Contrasting explosions of funk with sequences of contemplative beats over bass lead frequencies, the music sizzles with the dark energy emitted from the depths of the dancefloor that at any moment might self-combust. Avant Garde ideas meet earthy, passionate dance for the next generation in the band called ‘Criminally underrated’ by IDJ magazine.

THE DEAD ROSE MUSIC COMPANY

TDRMC were brought together whilst digging through crates of old vinyl following the disco revolt. It was a chance meeting over a record that led to this forbidden union.
