AKOMA PRESENTS AN ALZHEIMERS DISEASE FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT NAT & MARION’S HOUSE

5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease.
One in eight older Americans has Alzheimer's disease.
Alzheimer's disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.
More than 15 million Americans provide unpaid care valued at $210 billion for persons with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Payments for care are estimated to be $200 billion in the United States in 2012.

A Healing In Motion Series-
Healing in Motion started as a series of fundraising events using dance as a means to raise funds for Nat & Marion’s House . Historically dance has been healing and spiritual. Healing In Motion is yet another way in which individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s Disease can receive healing through dance. “Akoma” a word in the African language of Twi that means heart. Do have a heart and come support a worthy cause.

The proceeds of these events will go towards the creation of Nat & Marion’s House. This initiative is dedicated to helping persons with Alzheimer’s disease live with dignity by providing supportive services to patients and their caregivers.
