Well what a night we had on the last bank holiday!! A brilliant night was had by all and the exclusive new set from The Matrix was the icing on the cake! Allister Whitehead played a show stopping set after Mikey Worth & Nick Stockley did an awesome job on warm up duties. Graeme Park delivered a very classy set as always into the early hours to bring the night to a close in his own unique style he did so many times on Saturday nights at the Hacienda. Matty Erst & friends kept the deep house party rocking on the roof while Peachy & co surprised everyone in room 2 with their devastating blend of disco, boogie & funk. Star of the show, as he has been on so many occasions was Stoke's very own godfather of House PETE BROMLEY. If anyone knows how to deliver time and time again in his home town its Pete. Now back in 1992 after 4 years of playing at most of the bureoning house nights breaking through in Stoke, Pete began his residency at the legendary Golden clubnight which swept the nation by storm. Pretty much every single major Dj in the world stopped by to play at Golden over its course which ran for over 10 years and Pete was the only DJ that stayed the course playing from the first night it opened to the last night when it closed. This alone is some achievement which saw him play for over 2 solid months in actual DJ hours for Golden at Peppers, Regimes, The Academy, The Cube, The Void, Sankeys, not to mention their club tours in the UK and overseas! This year sees the 20th anniversary of Pete's first night at Golden and Sunday 3rd June at The Sugarmill is where he'll be giving a masterclass in DJing as he did so many times for us during those memorable nights back in the day... If this wasn't enough, one of Goldens monthly residents that went on to be Creams main resident after Paul Oakenfolds departure and Mr Saturday night on Radio 1 around the turn of the millenium we have the legend that is SEB FONTAINE stopping by to play his golden favourites which is also a first time exclusive! With the usual shenanigans on the roof and in room 2 this will be another night not to be missed in the Stoke On Trent clubbing calendar for fans of house music back then, and fans of house music now.... See You On The Dancefloor... ;) x
