We keep on rolling into the summer on the back of some amazing parties and guests and we continue in the same vein for our June gathering by welcoming Thomas Bullock freshly back from life in NYC. Thomas epitomises the best virtues, a love of good music across the board and the ability to work a party!
Thomas should need no introduction, originally from Cambridge he was part of the Tonka crew along with DJ Harvey in the late 80's famed for their wild parties. A subsequent move to San Francisco in the early 90's where he joined the Wicked Crew along side the likes of DJ Garth kick started the dance scene in the city. Moving to NYC in 1996 he formed the band A.R.E. Weapons before leaving to start his more recent projects such as the Rub N Tug parties with Eric Duncan and his balearic rock band with Harvey called Map of Africa. The infamous Rub N Tug parties were an antidote to the banal house music of the time and releases from Map of Africa have become sought after collectors items.
As well as producing house music as Mirror Boys on the Grayhound label, edits under the alias Otterman Empire for Whatever We Want Records, he has also released a number of remixes to wide acclaim under his Welcome Stranger guise. Electing to call himself Tom Of England, Thomas has a number of records primed for release on his STD record label which are made for wild floors, steaming bathrooms and big room brawls.
This will be a special night - expect the best in house, disco, funk with leftfield oddities and the unexpected with Thomas at the helm! Bring a positive attitude, earn your stripes and get down early!
