Aqualung is born out of the machinated, industrial-yet-soulful ether of Detroit, Berlin and Amsterdam. An appreciation for the finer sides of the warmer and colder edges of techno, melded with fragments of electro, house and bass.
Staying true to our mission statement for the second night we’ve bought together a disparate cast, who on closer inspection, have more in common than first realised. LHF heads the bill, a uniquely London collective in the way that they have no definable sound. Instead they choose to draw influence from all aspects of city culture. A concoction of Brick Lane and Whitechapel’s rich south Asian heritage, the jungle, grime and dubstep that found its home in the depths of Hackney to the further reaches of New York’s hip-hop and garage. Often proving to be a heady and sometimes hallucinogenic experience.
Alongside them we have another Keysound artist making waves in the form of Logos. His deconstructions of Wiley’s classic eski sound have been spreading like wildfire recently, hinting at rejuvenation and a new direction for Grime to move towards.
Rounding up the bill we have our favourite residents from Colony & Scand, drawing the dots between the hardcore continuum and Europe’s knack for dark techno and MOH from bass and house night Wavey Tones
