Line-up / Ryat, Deco Child, Laura Escude, Blue on Blue
On June 30th, Soundcrash brings two bright young talents to the Dalston Roof Park. Making her first trip to London after signing with the prestigious Brainfeeder label will be RYAT. Joining her as co-headliner will be Ninja Tune’s Deco Child.
RYAT brings wonderful electronic melodies, created live through a combination of vocal and instrumental sampling, ranging from shuffling glitchy beats to eccentric pop. Her distinctive vocals take center stage throughout, rightfully drawing comparisons to Bjork in their lushness and complexity. She comes to London on the heels of her Brainfeeder debut Totem (to be released on 5th June) – a captivating album filled with sonic twists, fire filled vocals and unusual, emotional grooves.
Deco Child is the ideal artist to share this double bill. The Oxford native deals in a shadowy, beautiful brand of electronica, sonorous in rhythm and quite otherworldly. His single “Pray” (released January 2012) is an exhilarating, exhausting experience and well worth the listen, as fragile vocals and tenuous piano crescendo in a tidal wave of euphoria. His debut will be released through Ninja Tune later this year.
Laura Escude is a critically acclaimed music technologist, violinist and composer. She has worked with Cirque du Soleil, Iranian trio Niyaz and Kanye West.
London duo Blue on Blue consists of Dee Sada and Billy Trivial. Specialising in future pop, the duo’s recent EP on Robot Elephant Records has been causing a fuss in all the right places.
