Climbers (Mexa Records / Culprit / Electronique Digital)

Climbers is the Mexicali duo, Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal, who, despite forming just a year ago, have already been making serious waves around the world with a fresh-faced take on house music.

Their debut ‘Law Of Attraction’ EP on Culprit, as well as the slew of buzzworthy remixes for labels such as Lower East, Noir Music 2 and Electronique have already found their way into the crates of some of the hottest underground dance acts including Art Department, James Teej, My Favorite Robot Tanner Ross, Miguel Campbell, Catz n Dogz, Death on the Balcony and Richy Ahmed. ‘All Right’ from the Culprit EP has already been played on BBC Radio’s iconic Pete Tong show.

Though they come from different musical backgrounds, Blakk and Deal haven been friends since high-school. Early last year they finally decided to join forces to make music, and they haven’t looked back. 2012 will see further releases for Culprit, an EP on Nervous Records’ newly launched Nurvous imprint, plus a debut European tour.

Climbers’ are fast developing a signature sound: set to classic house percussions, empahitic electronic baselines, old school vocal sampling and atmospheric synth pads that are always pushing all the right buttons and are never less than memorable.

........................................................................

Raffa FL (Nervous / Digital Delight)

Music is in the blood of Raffaele Calza, aka Raffa FL, as from a young age his musician father had an influence on his life. Raffa learnt to understand and perform music, and a natural progression came to DJ’ing at the tender age of just 14.

Fast forward a few years, and 2012 most certainly belongs to Raffa. He has releases set to launch on labels including Nurvous Records, Say Ahh! Records, Digi...tal Delight and Swink Music, as well as releases on his own masterminded label ‘Tools and Stuff’ with DJ friends Dirty Culture. He has also been newly signed to underground UK label Love Not Money Records.

February sees Raffa step up his game with eagerly anticipated EP ‘Hot For You’ on Electronique. The EP includes remixes by emerging UK talents Ashley Wild and Hot Since 82, Mexican house sleuths Climbers and French new kid Julien Sandre. All provide a diverse slant on the original charming work of this emerging Veronese talent.

Support has already been given for the track across the world, by well respected DJ’s such as Laura Jones, Waifs & Strays, Wildkats, Droog and Russ Yallop.

Later this year Raffa will also release his remix of the classic Kim English track ‘Nitelife’, on Nurvous Records. He also has many other projects in the pipeline, continually pushing to produce quality house music, designed for lovers of the sound.

Jobe (Sleazy Deep / Resonance Records)

Unlike most DJ’s, who according to their biographies ‘started DJing at the age of 2, and were headlining DC-10 by the age 4′, JOBE didn’t own a pair of decks until he was 22. Whilst he loved music from an early age, it wasn’t until his close friend was given belt-drive decks for Christmas that he finally had the opportunity to give it a shot. Needless to say he loved it.

Fast forward several years and he was DJing most weekends in Leicester playing in bars and clubs, attempting to cater to the varied range of tastes from the Leicester crowd. Whilst he enjoyed his time behind the decks, in the end, playing in the local bars of a small city simply didn’t cut. He wanted to DJ full time and have the opportunity to play in some best clubs in the world. However this is never an easy task as most DJ’s would agree. In order to play the more prestigious venues it’s vital to have a strong output as a producer as well as a DJ.

So he decided to step back from the decks and spent the next 3 years learning music production. The turning point came when he took an Ableton course online and his productions improved dramatically.

His debut release was a deep house cut titled “Deeply Agnostic”, which saw a successful release on the prominent electronic music label Nude Photo Music. The Portland, US-based imprint bought a fine selection of remixers to the fore for the exclusive Beatport release, including San Francisco DJ/Producer Dave Aju.

Having recently been signed to Electronique Digital, SinQ Records, and Sleazy Deep and now under the direction of The Underground Artist Management Agency, the future has never looked better, and every day he takes a step closer to his dream of DJing globally.

Despite producing mainly within the realms of house music, when DJing he is totally unconcerned with the constraints of genre and entirely fixated on uncovering music that is both timeless and forward-thinking.
