With just a few small releases to their name– including a TELEPATHE remix, a downloadable EP, two 7”s on Dick Move and Merok – before the release of their debut 7AM on True Panther, TEENGIRL FANTASY fall in line with a current crop of very sharp 20something dudes who can’t help but mess with the pop, R&B and dance music they grew up with. In the fawning words of Pitchfork, TEENGIRL “make dream music. With a beat. The revamp references its source with barely-there samples that seem to be fighting against interference.” The duo have created a mild furor online after staggering sets at this past years’ SXSW and we’re excited to see what sort of ruckus they create here tonight. Electronic production duo SUPREME CUTS return to the Bottle with tracks from their upcoming July-released LP Whispers in the Dark – an effort that already has obsessed fans from across the interwebs. XLR8R claims “one could practically cough on the dense, atmospheric production SUPREME CUTS exhibits,” and the FADER describe their sound as like “they’re trying to figure out footwork through a cloud of smoke and squinted eyes” – in case you didn’t pick up what they’re putting down, shit is thick.
