A night for automatic lovers of deep, electronic music from the outer reaches of Chicago house music and Detroit techno, to the deepest sounds of Berlin and everything in between. Featuring a blend of DJ sets and live performance with a real emphasis on the underground.
For our June event, we welcome one of Chicago's new breed, Hakim Murphy. As a Chicago Footwork dancer in the 90s, Hakim was inspired to play records, taking influence from the likes of Larry Heard, Robert Armani, Dance Mania, Relief and Cajual Records.
Hakim heads up his own Machining Dreams imprint which has a reputation for consistently dropping slick house and techno releases. Hakim's sound ranges from deep, sparse sounds, soulful grooves right through to solid, heavy acid music.
As a DJ Hakim is exceptional, playing marathon vinyl sets without ever letting the vibe drop. He has been responsible for a prolific amount of outstanding mixes and podcasts recently..... come and check him out !
Bohemian Grove is all about hearing good electronic music in friendly, comfortable surroundings with like minded people.
We like to keep our parties intimate to ensure that the atmosphere is never compromised. Unfortunately we have had to turn a lot of people away at previous events but rest assured we have no plans to move to any of the city's bigger venues.
Tickets will soon be available online here and at Piccadilly Records & Eastern Bloc, Oldham Street, Manchester city centre.... Peace !
