Here is a one off kind of a party, once a year with good reason!

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

Highlighting artists bound by more than genre-tags or label affiliations, the annual Summer Solstice open-air party, taking place as part of the Fete de la Musique, is largely about uniting friends that share a mutual interest in underground electronic music.

Last year's was party of the Summer, with a huge turnout, and heavy-hitting sets by Legowelt, Heatsick and Xosar, round two of the Solstice party looks to expand upon this mould.

This year the event is a collaboration between Mutual Dreaming, an ongoing series of Brooklyn-based all night parties, and Berlin based PAN, one of electronic music's most exciting labels, which has become an important new imprint for extraordinary outsider and experimental music of the highest calibre.

We attempt to showcase the best of emergent underground artists to adventurous ears, seeking a cross-pollination between New York's current underground party scene and Berlin's experimental dance climate.

Jason Letkiewicz, AKA STEVE SUMMERS, dedicated to analog house tracks rooted in Chicago and New York/New Jersey, with releases on labels such as L.I.E.S and Clone, has explored the unnerving, and lo-fi areas of the house music spectrum. He will be joining for a live set of his warehouse-styled beats and brooding, heady electronic jack tracks.

On the day he will also be teaming up with fellow New York musician, Aurora Halal, video artist and curator of Brooklyn's deepest parties, Mutual Dreaming. They will be making their Berlin debut with INNERGAZE.

Fusing Letkiewicz's restless momentum with Halal's spectral visuals, INNERGAZE's sound is raw, psychedelic and spontaneous, delivering an ebullient mixture of industrial, dreamy, analog house and minimal synth jams. All recorded with TR808, Juno 60, Casio Sk5, Korg Polysix, Arp Odyssey, Sh101, Dx21, MPC1000, phaser, delay and more...

"Innergaze drag us slightly further back into the glorious cradle of dance music. Their music, crushed and static, obscured by sound. EBM, coldwave and early techno fight it out for dominance of the drum machine. Casually brutal vocals force their way through, as if Chris & Cosey’s dalliances with the Eurythmics had conjured a restless demon." -20 Jazz Funk Greats

Rounding out the live roster is HEATSICK, Berlin based Steven Warwick, who makes a repeat appearance to last year's performance. Over the past year he's expanded the range of his Casio-addled house, releasing a slew of recordings on labels from PAN to Rush Hour.

Warwick performs with a solitary Casio hallucinating through a group of effects and manipulated loops, shakers drifting in and out of time; chords falling slightly early or late; at points the whole thing threatening to come apart at the seams before being pulled back into shape. The result is appealingly loose and grainy, giving off an elegantly disjointed set of lo-fi house compositions.

This being an all-day affair, a wide roster will also be spinning the decks in an informal session from afternoon til dusk, including—among others—Hunee, Finn Johannsen, Rabih Beaini aka Morphosis, Bill Kouligas of PAN, Magic Touch, Ital...

With artists from Delsin to Rush Hour, Hard Wax, Minimal Wave, Planet MU, Future Times, PAN and L.I.E.S., you'd be hard pressed to find even a record store with such a dense selection of talent.

There will be a Japanese BBQ, drink specials, warm weather and the longest daylight hours of 2012

Please come early to get your fill !
