Breakthrough artist John Heckle comes to town this July, an artist who's reputation is growing at an alarming rate on the global underground house networks.
Starting out DJing at the tender age of just fifteen in his hometown Liverpool, he was noticed by techno legend Surgeon, who found John's 3 deck mixing impressive and highly unique. Residencies around Merseyside soon flooded in, and it wasn't long before John got into producing. After a few years experimenting with synths and drum machines John's debut release came on Mathematics Recordings, the exceptionally well received 'Life On Titan EP', capping his short career so far.
Further releases followed on Tabernacle and Signals before in 2011 John released his first album, entitled 'The Second Son', again on Mathematics; Heckle really finding his sound by this point. The pinnacle of his year was the release of in our opinion his finest work, the wonderful 'What Once Was'; a shimmering melodic deep house tune thats been on heavy rotation amongst us guys ever since.
John's passion for hardware is evident in the sound of his productions, his house/techno crossover tracks oozing analogy goodness from every chord to hi hat. He plays as many full on hardware live shows as he does DJ sets, and tonight we have booked a mix of the two; a DJ performance aided by a Roland 707, a rhythm composer that he taps along on whilst mixing records. Now signed to the Secretsundaze booking agency and gigging everywhere from Sonar to Free Rotation, it won;t be long till this blokes career sky rockets, so come and see what all the fuss is about.
