July marks a very special period in the productional career of Backstage residents Homework as it is in this month they will release their new (third) EP, Conversation Piece EP, on Berlin-based record label Exploited, after a (original) production hiatus of just under a year.
A release of such importance deserves a grand party and therefore, on July 14th, Homework will celebrate the birth of their new EP at Backstage. For this occasion they have invited Exploited label buddy Doctor Dru (known for his chart-topping club hit 'The Voice Of Dru') to join in on the festivities.

Homework
It’s fair to say that Homework, the duo born and raised in Amsterdam’s Concerto record store, have slowly been securing their place in the national and international house music stratospheres. With releases on labels like Berlin-based Exploited, 2020Vision, and Jesse Rose's Made To Play, and strains of remixes erupting from their studio, the two gentlemen have garnered continuing support from a wide array of artists like Soul Clap, Axel Boman, Oliver $, Jimpster, Derrick Carter, Laurent Garnier, and many others.
Equally passionate about both Chicago-infused vintage as modern-day deep house, it's clear that their years as record store employees have bestowed upon them a broad taste in music.
With a globetrotter’s touring schedule to boot – from Berlin’s Panoramabar to Social Club in Paris – a bright future seems to shaping up for the two cosmopolitans.

Doctor Dru
His professional drumming career took him around Europe, supporting artists like R.Kelly in sold out concert halls, but a skateboarding accident left him with two broken arms and put an abrupt end to his career. Tweaking a mixer was still possible however. The subsequent years were spent honing his production skills and spinning vinyl at numerous parties and clubs. Before long he was producing a wide variety of artists including one of his heroes, Bootsy Collins.
Doctor Dru was also the producer behind "Juicy Fruit", the 2011 summer hit and success story of Exploited's new sub label Black Jukebox. Recently he has teamed up with Adana Twins (again) for their breakthrough: "Everyday" EP on Exploited. With his current release "The Voice Of Dru", a smashing deep disco edit, which was # Nr 1 in the Beatport Deep House Top 100.
