‎**Unfortunately due to reasons beyond our control we've had to cancel our party next week. The venue 'METER LDN' has gone into liquidation and closed down last monday. We only found out a couple of days ago and have tried to move to another venue but nothing's available. We plan on doing this same line up at another venue later in the year so keep your eyes peeled. Apologies...**
Radio 1, you think you're so big and clever with your Hackney Weekend huh? Well, anything you can do, we can match. Free music? Check. East(-ish) London venue? Check. Surprise cameos from Rihanna, M.I.A. and Kanye? Check, check, and ch-motherfuckin-eck. Hot on the heels of our Luke Vibert-led bash up in Dalston, we return to the familiar surroundings of Meter - formerly CAMP - for a night of music and dancing so heated, passionate and stimulating it'll make Fifty Shades of Grey seem, well, grey.
[DISCLAIMER: Rihanna, M.I.A. and Kanye have had to pull out of their surprise cameos, as I've just blabbed it so it wouldn't be a surprise anymore]
First up, we have DEFT. Actually "first" would be a fib, as we love this Croydon producer so much that we've had him along twice before, such is his knack for maintaining such a constant, irresistible energy in his sets. Whenever he's set to play a night of ours I always try to sum up all his hype in to one manageable paragraph, but he seems hell-bent on making such blurbs instantly redundant through a constant stream of ever-increasingly quality releases - he's just dropped the stunning 'Clotting' EP on Wotnot, and is set to swiftly follow it up with the 'Masquerade' EP on one of the hottest labels around, Rwina. If you're still left in any doubt, just look at him topping May's 'most downloaded' chart on XLR8R - he's hotter property than Jimmy Edgar, Bok Bok... even effing PLASTIKMAN for Christ's sake: http://bit.ly/McG0zO

If I wasn't nursing a massive Event Description Boner before, my trousers are practically bursting at the seams now. When I first stumbled upon a stash of MANNI DEE's tracks and mixes, I squealed out loud and ran around telling anyone that would listen that we HAD to have him come play. As it happened, one of those people was the man himself, and fortunately he concurred. His productions shuffle between the most explorative realms of house, footwork, hip-hop, and a hell of a lot else, whilst his mixes are a truly jaw-dropping combination of slick assembly and mind-boggling eclecticism. Check his Soundcloud for tunes and some sidebar links, but if I had to pick a current favourite Manni Dee creation I'd probably plump for this astonishing mix for Lucid, quite possibly the only time you'll find Blawan, Major Lazer, Commix, Bjork and The Smiths all melting in to the same 53 minutes: http://bit.ly/LWzALz

Bringing a wave of tropical heat (via Shepshed, Leicestershire) to proceedings, MURLO packs a fully-fledged carnival in his bag wherever he goes, and will be sure to have Meter's sales of rum going through the roof during his set. With party credibilities long-since proven through countless DJ bookings across the land - including regular sessions for our good friends Hipsters Don't Dance - and support from Mad Decent, we are delighted to host Murlo's soca and bashment bombardments for the night - expect to dip down very, very low. But really, what else did you expect from a producer who takes his name from a type of wine? Check this mix recorded at one of Manchester's finest parties, Swing Ting, for a taste of the temperature levels to expect: http://snd.sc/LkRiZg

Sheffield's Oliver Ledger is fast becoming less of a producer, and more of an answer - as in: Q. "track id??" A. "SQUAREHEAD". Disclosure, Mosca, Fantastic Mr Fox and a host of the country's hottest DJs are currently rinsing his productions in their sets, and it's not hard to see why. Straight-up infectious house music angled direct to the dancefloor, Squarehead knows what gets feet moving and heads nodding. A long-term member of the Bad Taste family, we're proud to be able to present his talents for free just as he verges on blowing up in gigantic fashion.

For the uninitiated, DARKSTORM may just be a depressingly accurate description of this year's UK summer. For those in the know, however, he's the mastermind behind the Bad Taste label, and can always be relied upon to translate his keen A&R skills in to a set full of impeccably chosen fresh cuts and established party-starters.
