Who needs a residency? The rave up at The Yard was undoubtedly our most ludicrous party to date! Delivering us from all abstinence was Prosumer, who provided his first offering since stepping down as the long-serving high priest of the house at the helm of modern party culture, Panorama Bar.The reaction was incredible. A sea of faces lost in the grips of euphoria. A roadblock reported in Hackney Wick.

On Friday November 30th, the craziness continues as ReviveHER reopen a Victorian Chocolate Factory to welcome the return of household favourite Tim Sweeney and the sounds of NYC. In a space in the apex of the building, under a listed glass roof that will be raised to the point of tearing off, ReviveHER will recreate the hedonism and revive the musical ideals of the loft parties that created the idea of counter culture dance music parties in New York all those years ago. Accessed by a lift from the Queens Yard, behind the stern Victorian façade and above the industrial grit of the Wick, this is Charlie’s glass elevator opening up to a whole new world of fun.

This is ReviveHER gracefully blowing out 2012. Get your golden ticket quick. After all, we hear Uncle EFES is not allowed any shindigs anymore. Not since Tim Sweeney blew the hinges off his Snooker Joint and had the whole of Dalston swing in.

Tim Sweeney

Tim’s sets have become a signature sound for ReviveHER. There’s a reassuring sense of diligence about what he does. His infectious love for new music has given rise to the extraordinary WNYU radio show ‘Beats In Space’ and his work with DFA is entwined with an everlasting pop legacy. It’s of no coincidence then, that a majority of our guests have played his show. ReviveHER are proud to be part of a global fraternity that celebrates good music in all its guises, above and beyond its fashionable hype. His record label, now on its fourth release, is characterised by an uncompromising attitude towards musical exploration. There’s no mould to his imprint, just music.

Fittingly, our New Yorker inherits the ReviveHER main room from the German luminary Prosumer off the back of his own BIS 13th anniversary party at Panorama Bar. He’ll also be playing a celebratory selection for the London Boiler Room (at the behest of RH) the night before we welcome him.

Land of Light

In keeping with the NY feel, we follow up with an ESP Institute exclusive from soundscapists ‘Land of Light’, who perform their heart-stopping meditations in sound live in the UK for the very first time.

‘Land of Light’ is a collaboration between Jonny Nash and Kyle Martin. Jonny first grabbed our attention for his work as Discossession and became ReviveHER‘s first ever guest back in 2009 and is now making his third appearance. He’s also a part of the Tokyo influenced LN-CC concept store hidden somewhere deep beneath Dalston. Kyle is the synth freak in the ex-Ozric Tentacles/Planet Gong-fronted space rock band Dream Machine and was the "This Is Not An Exit" debutant, Spectral Empire.

The emergence of the ‘Land of Light’ album has been a slow dawn, forming gradually over the course of three years. It radiates melodic warmth from layers upon layers of samplers, synthesizers and electric guitars. Nothing can divert the listener’s attention from the all-consuming sequence of sonic absorption. Once you are submerged in twinkling binary code, you may sense that it is absolute music- music for the sake of music, an art utterly content in itself.

Young Marco

Our third guest, Young Marco, is the heir elect of the ESP Institute. NYC's Lovefingers has signed two of his records, with bona fide tastemakers Dixon and James Murphy backing them all the way. Surely the rest is history?

His penchant for off–kilter tunes definitely fits the bill, with a self-professed DJ repertoire taking in everything from lost proto-house through to maniacal Libyan disco-anthems. Being baptized as one of the Amsterdam All Stars on his first release on Rush Hour, Marco is also at the helms of the day to day operations of the Dutch based institute for electronic music and haven for music lovers worldwide. An education we’d all be envious of. All hail the Flying Dutchman!

This is the party equivalent of the perfect storm and we know it could be the best ReviveHER yet: an intimate journey, you’ll be launched seven at a time in to beats in space via our elevator. Guarantee your place on the trip with a ticket here! Another unique signature ReviveHER space, untouched. Virgin territory. We'll see you at the bottom, ready to party to the top.

Sat, 08 Dec 2012Thanks for the +ve feedback everyone! Especially, mraberry and theelbow, as we were really worried about your reviews. So glad you enjoyed it.

We're currently dealing with some crap from the council and bar company.

We're gonna do our best to come back in the New Year with a more low key party at this space, but expect the sound, production and effort to the same standard!

And Yes Tim did play!Check the photos on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/ReviveHER).

He played 3 - 5

ps... More

Mon, 03 Dec 2012A really, realy good party REVIVEHER team. Fantastic choice of location, friendly, swtiched-on crowd, perfect number of people, great sound...all round, it was excellent, excellent night. The promotion guys judged the capacity vrs space perfectly, which demonstrates great organisation. Many large promoters lack this sense of judgement. Hats off to that. I am very excited for the next one!
