What a year it’s been for Cut + Paste with a series of capacity gigs in the UK, their Asian debut in the fabled Magnum club in Hong Kong and a series of worldwide gigs in the pipeline. They have also been handpicked by AV8 records NYC to work with the labels biggest artists. Live the duo are nothing short of spectacular creating a huge hands in the air party atmospehere wherever they play. Using 4 decks, samplers and live mc-ing the duo smash together house, electro, club classics with the biggest urban vocals, sweetest guitar licks, classic synth stabs with their own remixes and mash-ups at the forefront. Cut + Paste is the brainchild of UK mash-up DJ’s Kon-tempt and Johnny Frenetic. Only a few months old and things have really taken off with the act signed to the legendary AV8 records in the USA and international tour dates flowing in with gigs in Norway and Hong Kong in May alone and gig enquiries coming in from all over the globe.
Kon-tempt and Edinburgh’s own Johnny Frenetic have been building up huge reputations world wide for both their production work, sublime mix CD’s and of course their hugely energetic live shows. A real Scottish success story between them they have already played all over the world with parties in Ibiza, Dubai, Paris, Zurich, The Caymen island, Scandinavia, The Canary islands, London, Corfu and Warsaw they have dropped by some of Europes biggest festivals and supported acts as diverse as Roger Sanchez, Hed Kandi, The Cut Up Boys Snow Patrol, Elbow, G-Unit, Clinton Sparks, Jazzy Jeff and Dexter from the Avalanches.
Live they use four decks and 2 lap-tops to smash together a genre-splitting mix of house, electro, club classics, dubstep, classic 80’s & 90’s loops, huge urban acapellas & big indie guitar riffs with their own original mash-ups and remixes taking centre stage which have had in excess of 4 million you tube views and ten of thousands of downloads worldwide.
