GRANT NELSON (House legend) Swing city/Nice & Ripe/Hed Kandi
This man need no introduction, Smashing the house and garage scene for over 10 years with most if not all of his releases being a big hit and a staple in many djs sets, he is heralded as the Godfather of UK Garage due to his numerous club hits on his Nice 'n' Ripe label in the early 90's. It was his sound along with a few others that gave birth to the then known as 'Sunday Scene' which went on to become UK Garage.
In 97 he started using the alter-ego Bump & Flex and began to produce UK 2 Step. He delivered some of the scenes biggest records by far including the incredible "Funk On Ah Roll" by James Brown.
Nelson has always remained a house head since his early Nice 'n' Ripe days and continues to do so to the present with his excellent Swing City label that consistently delivers top drawer house music. including releases like...

“Hey what’s up, my name is Jeremy Underground Paris & I’m running My Love Is Underground.I’m a 23 years old music lover based in the parisian suburbs. Besides the label,I’m basically a hardcore crate digger/record collector, and I’m also djing. At the tender age of 10, back in the spring of 1997, I discovered the deep house sound on the famous parisian radio “Nova†(with that crazy joint called “That’s Life†by Charles McDougald),and instantly fell in love with it.During the following weeks, I bought my first deep house 12inches; with plates like Kerri Chandler’s “The Way I Feel 97″ or CVO’s “Party Time†on Balance. That’s the cool way my collection started, a collection that now, 13 years after, reaches +5000 vinyl records. With such a house education, I developped a deep and very special taste for underground house music, and got specialized into it. I must say I dug really deep into the 90′s house sound , so when I’m playing, that gives you a ‘unique’ chance to listen to the finest oldschool obscurities, tunes that, basically, you have no chance to hear anywhere else. But wait! I’m not only into the deephouse game. It’s been several years now that I also collect many other styles, let’s say mainly “70′s Rare Groovesâ€. Jazz/funk/soul/disco/brazil/afro/psych/cuban/european stuff, whatever you want, no musical frontiers …as long as the groove is there! “There is good music and there is bad musicâ€One advice: don’t ever tell me about your digital business, your mp3′s etc. Fuck that. Vinyl Only!â€
