11 time Grammy Nominee and Soul Superstar Musiq Soulchild is making his way to Australia for the very first time to bless us with his sultry and captivating voice; the voice that has seen this incredible artist sell millions of records worldwide. With shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, this is a rare opportunity to see one of Neo-Soul’s greatest performers up close and personal.

Musiq Soulchild is far from a new act. His career spans over a decade, he has an array of genre-blending hits in his repertoire, and since 2000, he has amassed seven Top 10 hits on the Billboard Charts. Inspired by such legends as Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Ray Charles, the Philadelphia native made a blockbuster debut right out of the gate with 2000’s acclaimed and game changing album “AIJUSWANASEING”. The album sold over 1 million copies and saw the young musician honored with a number of awards including Billboard Awards for “Best New Artist” and “Top R&B Male”. The album produced two hit singles “Just Friends (Sunny)”, and “Love” which spent 22 weeks on the charts.

In May 2002, Musiq unveiled his second album “JUSLISEN”, which entered the Billboard Charts at #1 and went on to platinum sales, and featured the singles “Halfcrazy” and “Dontchange”. His third album “SOULSTAR” arrived one short year later and was greeted with both critical and popular success. Hailed as one of the year’s finest collections of contemporary R&B, the album featured two radio smashes in “Forthenight” and “Whoknows” and saw Musiq take home a Soul Train Award for Best R&B/Soul Album.

Musiq made a stellar Atlantic debut with “LUVANMUSIQ”, earning a trio of Grammy nominations as well as sales in excess of 700,000. The album which debuted at #1 featured a string of major hit singles, including “b.u.d.d.y”, “Makeyouhappy”, and the #1 smash “Teachme” which spent 15 weeks atop the Billboard Urban AC airplay chart. “ONMYRADIO” followed in 2008, reaching the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” chart in its second week out. The album received considerable critical praise, with special attention paid to the smash singles, “Sobeautiful” and “Ifuleave (Feat. Mary J. Blige).”

Recently adding author to his ever-growing resume, Musiq’s first book “143 – Love According to Musiq” is a guide to love and relationships. The premise of the book is that one cannot enjoy a fulfilling relationship with another human until they truly love and accept themselves. The book provides practical information on how to build a stronger connection for two people in love, or on their way. “143 – Love According to Musiq” is out now.
