From Monday the 8th October to Wednesday the 10th October Puglia Sounds in London, a great festival dedicated to the discovery of Puglia and the sounds of his homeland, will be held at the Koko and Dingwalls, two venues of great prestige always trodden by international artists such as Noel Gallagher , Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse and many others.
An intense three days dedicated to all the sounds of Puglia - a region located in the South of Italy - from reggae to jazz, from folk to rock concerts with some of the most representative musicians of Puglia: Sud Sound System, Nicola Conte, Emma, Erica Mou, Populous, We Ladies feat Mama Marjas, Miss Mikela and Sista Women in Reggae, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Livio Minafra, Nidi d’Arac, Radiodervish, La Fame di Camilla, Serpenti and Larssen.
Puglia Sounds in London is organized by TIJ Events, with the support of Puglia Sounds, Puglia Region program for the development of the music system and the Regional Tourism Agency Pugliapromozione .
Reggae and dub lovers will be amazed by the sounds of Sud Sound System, mixing the Salento dialect with the reggae music they were the pioneers of a music movement that has lasted more than 20 years, and Mama and Miss Marjas Mykela supported by London-based band "Sista Women in Reggae” to present the project We ladies produced by Adrian Sherwood. On Monday the 8th LARSSEN - awarded by media as a true dubstep and post-garage Italian pioneer, resident dj for Nasty FM, he played with MC Navigator, Africa Hitech, Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton -
will close the night playing some of his songs.
You can also listen to jazz music with NICOLA CONTE (Cult DJ, producer and re-mixing nu-jazz) and Livio Minafra, twice winner of the Top Jazz Prize.
If you have always wanted to go to the "Notte della Taranta" this is the chance to have a "bite" of the night with the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, formed in 1975 is the band's most famous traditional music of Salento, and with Radiodervish, their music represents the Mediterranean area, a connection point between East and West.
During the three days you will also listen to the more experimental side of electronic music from Puglia: performing on the on stage will be Populous (three albums with the historic record label Morr Music in Berlin), NIDI D'ARAC, they have been mixing electronic and traditional music for more than a decade and have played as opening act for Robert Plant, and SERPENTI (they opened for the Gossip, Natalie Imbruglia, Cornershop, The Horrors, Asian Dub Foundation and many others). But Puglia is also rock and so are EMMA, the main Italian pop singers, ERICA MOU, this 22 years of songwriter has already played at the Heineken Jamming Festival, and LA FAME DI CAMILLA: one of the most popular rock band in Italy.
