Louche presents The Nothing Special with Craig Richards & Trevino photo gallery
Launched in 2007 as an intimate gathering amongst friends, Louche has grown into one of the premier house nights in the country. Founded and still homed at the UK renowned Mint Club Louche are responsible for bringing acts such as Nicholas Jaar, Omar S, Zip, Visionquest, Moodymann, George FitzGerald and Dyed Soundorom amongst many many others over the years, all parties with a taste making musical attitude and unrivalled crowd and atmosphere.
To kick start our 6th year of parties we call on the services of one of the most respected DJ's in the game, Craig Richards. Joining him on the bill will be the hotly tipped Trevino who has dazzled us this year with a slew of fantastic DJ sets and releases to match.
Craig Richards needs little introduction. He's risen to worldwide recognition, not from touring the globe but from staying resident in one place. That one place is the UK's and one of the world's most celebrated clubs, Fabric. Every week since it opened he has soundtracked the clubs music policy, not just with his inspiring, always different DJ sets, but also curating the venue, programming its Saturday nights week in week out, needless to say Craig's residency at Fabric is an unparalleled success.
Alongside Lee Burridge he formed Tyrant in the early 2000s, who held down another long lasting Fabric residency, spinning a highly popular breakbeat/techno crossover, for which they received more global acclaim. The latest string to Richard's bow is 'The Nothing Special', a label and series of parties directed by Craig which channels his more underground tastes. Focusing on experimental live acts across the underground spectrum, from electronica to breakbeats to disco to house it gives Craig a chance to diversify his warm up sets further. The guy is DJ diversity personified, it's going to be a treat to see him play Mint Club.
A signing to Richards' Nothing Special Label, Trevino has been making quite a stir since breaking onto the scene in 2011. He is by no means a new comer though; Marcus Kaye has been in the game for a very long time. Growing up in Manchester, he was heavily influenced by his experiences at The Hacienda and his time spent working at Eastern Bloc Records from a very young age. As his other alias Marcus Intalex he has truly conquered the Drum n Bass sound, holding residencies at Fabric, recording radio shows for Red Bull Music Academy and remixing for the likes of Little Dragon.
Now though Marcus has started a new chapter in his music career, returning to his passion for the sounds of house & techno. Trevino is fast becoming a household name, his 'Juan Two Five' release on 'The Nothing Special' grabbed our attention back in May, plus releases on Apple Pips, Hot Flush and gigs at Panorama Bar as well as high profile Nothing Special nights at Fabric have propelled Trevino to the lips of tastemakers across the industry.
With Craig Richards treating us to a 3 hour extended set on the night and Trevino making his Leeds debut we're more than confident this will be the perfect way to kick start our return for the new season. See you down the front x
