My My, Patrick Chardronnet, Darko
Patrick Chardronnet is a young producer from Stuttgart just bursting with talent. Early productions ‘Phonix’ and ‘Just a Little Peek’ were highlights of Steve Bug’s ‘Bugnology’ and label compilation ‘Poker Flat Vol. 4’, other milestones include remixes of Martin Landsky's FM Safari, but it’s definitely his more recent stuff that impresses the most: ‘Eve By Day’ and the remix of Goldfish Und Der Dulz’s ‘Privacy’ simply stick to turntables. Chardronnet brings a welcome new kind of groggy lushness to techno which a surprising appeal to both the chin-stroking sound gimps at the back and the pole dancers throwing shapes on centre stage.
2006 is a big year for Patrick; he kicked off with some fine remixes on Dirty Bird Records, Connaisseur Supérieur and My Best Friend; followed by new EPs on Pokerflat, Raummusik and Connaisseur. Don't miss the new 7 deadly strokes remix (Neuton). He's spent the summer perfecting and twisting his live performance across Europe. A prolific and spellbinding performance that has earned rewards: Patrick Chardronnet is nominated for best newcomer at the Dance Music Awards (Berlin 2 September 2006).
The members of My My met and became friends through common interests in music, but it wasn´t until they ended up as neighbours in Berlin´s Mitte, that a lifestyle of committed partying, cake baking and long studio sessions lead to their debut release.
My My are: Carsten Klemann, Lee Jones, and Nick Höppner. Only Carsten originates from Berlin and he doesn't do any baking, just eating. He's been resident at Berlin's infamous Watergate club since its opening and is well known on the Berlin scene. Collaborator Lee Jones (aka Hefner), is English and a dab hand at Banoffee Pie. He has also has an impressive cv featuring memorable UK performances at Plastic People (Resident DJ), The End, and Fabric, with countless others on the continent... Last but not least , Nick Höppner, specialises in Apple Pie and all things musical. Originally from Hamburg, Höppner moved to Berlin in 2001 and quickly became a resident at Berlin's seminal Panorama Bar. He can also be spotted regularly at the Melt! Festival and has been seen playing Sonar. With 3 12” releases on the excellent playhouse, My My's musical credentials are surefire. The cooking however remains to be tested, we invite you to come and taste!
