About Konstantin (Geigling Records)
Konstantin started throughing parties in his hometown around 2004 with his school buddy Leafar Legov and gathered a nice independent techno crowd from which also prince of denmark and vril arised. In 2006 as they moved to Weimar in Germany, Konstantin started to perform live together with Leafar as "kettenkarussell" . In Weimar the parties continued and with new friends and artists like DJ Dustin, Ateq, Dwig and Deer became the new face of this historic place.
The club Giegling was born and was around for 2 years. Was only after those 2 years that the first record was released as a requiem for all those nights spent together in the friendly small town atmosphere, where everything was allowed and music could grow aside from club conventions and other streams. Now the label became its own voice and we love to listen as it tells us things that they didn't know about themselves.
Giegling 10 is on its way and it's a a various artist 3x12" vinyl which combines all the aspects of the label, the Staub series as well as other album formats and some hints to other sub labels... The forthcoming release features: Matthias Reiling (1/2 of session victim), Monkey Maffia (ex-Whighnomy Brothers), Edward (white) and so on...
As a collective, they are also doing there own festival in Denmark called "Ø" and a floor on the fusion festival for electronica and broken beats. But this group is more than just music. They investigate how to intervene and participate on various levels to make a change and create places and products for a world how they wish it to be.
Konstantin recently has recloated to New York. He will spend the next few month here in Brooklyn and is already driven by the new york sound.
As a DJ he not just represents the sound of the Giegling label, Kettenkarussell and the East German techno culture, but also has been influenced from all the cities he frequently visited like Hamburg, Colone, Leipzig and Berlin.
