TOCA NYC (brought to you by JustinJustin Toca and Monica Powell) produces a monthly costumed themed party "Toca Cielo" at the award winning club Cielo NYC in the Meat Packing District every 4th Friday of the month. We are a Brazilian "inspired" Tribal-Tech House party with live percussion that is layered with performer, drummers, and burlesque acts, body painting, live canvas painters that take everyone by surprise. Our over the top but approachable themes that anyone can get into and hard core dancing crowd has awarded us one of the top underground parties in the NYC club scene by Time Out Magazine and Societe' Perrier. We rotate our DJ's and use only the best in NYC such as Charles Lima, Sid Vaga, Kenny Summit, Reality Engine, Mr. V, Steve Tek Gonzalez, Sabo, Luiz Campos, Carlol Ferraz, Michael Vieira, Emily Amanda, Mia Dangerfield, Terreyl Kirton, Fabio Soul, Thornato, 2Melo, G Brothers, Cloak Dagger, Heather McAlpin just to name a few. We always have Toca & the live Alé Alé drummers playing congas, african drums, cuica and small instruments. Depending on the night you will also run into samba dancers, capoeiristas, Chinese dragon performers, Hawaiian dancers, belly dancers, b-boys, burlesque performers, live canvas painting in the back yard, free body painters, hula hoopers, stilt walkers, violinist, saxophonist, hip-house rapper, live poets, jugglers, or a snake charmer. Our themes in the past that everyone dresses up for are the Naughty-cal & Nice, Red Dragon, Hippie Woodstock, Crazy Circus, Carnaval Burlesque, AlienNation, Mellow Yellow Hawaii, and Dirty XXXmas, Grease, Wild Wild West, Heffner and Bunnies,and Polka Dots Stripes n' Checks S+M Fetish, Brazilian Gypsy, and Concrete Jungle just to name a few.
