5 Years of Louche presents
Red Bull Music Academy
Sat 24th November
Plan B

We are 5! After half a decade of throwing and hosting parties all over the UK and Europe here we are, approaching the big one. In conjunction with The Red Bull Music Academy we are proud to welcome Henrik Schwarz, DJ Sprinkles, Move D, Braiden and Mr Solid Gold to Plan B, for our long awaited 5th Birthday celebrations.

Voted in the top 5 live acts in the world by RA, German house maestro Henrik Schwarz jets in, an artist we've been after for many years. The Innervisions man has been a true player in the house game since the early noughties, with globally acclaimed releases on Moodmusic, Sonar Kollectiv Mule Musiq, Innervisions and his own label Sunday Music. He's even mixed a DJ Kicks compilation for !K7; there isn't really much this guys hasn't accomplished.

More than just your average DJ/producer Henrik is known for pushing boundaries. He's designed his own Ableton harmonisation plugin 'The Schwarzonator', collaborated with world famous jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft at Jazz Festivals, he's' even performed with a full orchestra on a pontoon stage specially built in the River Spree outside Watergate.

Next up Terre Thaemiltz aka DJ Sprinkles. The enigmatic Tokyo based US producer's career spans 20 years, outputting production styles ranging from acoustic ambient to digital jazz to club orientated deep house. In 2009 he was responsible for one the most significant house albums ever written: 'Midtown 120 Blues'. Made with impeccable production skills and an ironic twist, the LP tore down the illusions of the deep house scene in New York, viewing it with a melancholy approach. "There must be a hundred records with voiceovers asking 'What is house?' And the answer is always some greeting card bullshit about life, love, happiness."

A truly fascinating character, Terre has also long been outspoken on issues relating to gender, sexuality, class, ethnicity and race, Sprinkles gave a very interesting RBMA interview a few years back that is a must listen for anyone wanting to know more about this master of invention and re-invention. This will be the first Sprinkles UK appearance for 18 months, and is sure to be pretty special.

Underground hero Move D completes the lineup in Room 1, rounding off what will be an emotive night of house music in Plan B's main room. Releasing since '94 on labels such as Workshop, Uzuri, Philpot, Compost and even Warp the German producer always pushes house and techno's boundaries towards analog outer space. His eclectic DJ sets inspire unequalled positive emotion, capable of dropping records that get even the nerdiest spotters in a twist. It'll be his first Louche appearance ever, and we can't wait to welcome him to the party.

Down in Room 2 we have London based Braiden, an RBMA graduate who's been having quite a year. Playing everywhere from New York to London to Berlin the capable 3 deck selector has a Rush Hour release scheduled soon to add to his debut on Joy O's Doldrums imprint. His sets are expansive, with a subtle element of surprise, he comes from a bass background but expect to hear house, disco and glitch thrown in for good measure. We love tuning into his fortnightly radio show on NTS and look forward to welcoming him back to the turntables.

Mr. Solid Gold for use of a better name is the DJ alias of Chris Gold; booker, promoter and founder of the London born party 'Trouble Vision.' As a DJ his style is as varied as the brand's booking policy; primarily rooted in house and disco but frequently straying into dub, techno and garage and beyond.

We return to one of our favourite venues in London, Brixton's most majestic party destination, Plan B; a 500 capacity gem complete with Funktion 1 sound in two acoustically treated rooms with a raw, stripped back interior. Expect intimate vibes and a serious soundsystem. We'd like to thank everyone that has contributed to 5 years of Louche, you know who you are, we look forward to celebrating with old faces and new x

Tickets: Our previous London events have sold out in advance so don't snooze on tickets! x
