Katermukke, the official label of the infamous KaterHolzig club in Berlin is coming to London for the first ever official showcase featuring the well known ex-BAR 25 and current KaterHolzig residents DIRTY DOERING, BRITTA ARNOLD & NILS. Our residents DAYLOMAR (formerly known as Deep-Lo) will also be playing an extended set in the red room
Having frequented both establishments on numerous occasions, we at Unleash feel that it is high time that we bring the unmistakable sound, spirit and soul of these legendary institutions to London.
Expect an event of cutting edge beats, electrifying theatrical circus performances and a vibrant dancefloor reminiscent of Berlin's parties.
We will be unleashing in the most unusual venue that we have ever seen in London - the space has an intimate capacity of only 400 people that is split across 3 interconnected areas.
This is certainly not your typical nightclub or warehouse affair and we could not think of a better place to host our friends from Berlin.
BAR 25. Please make an effort and help us turn this London establishment into a Fantasy Land that Bar 25 once was. Think Berlin meets Mad Max at Burning Man and you are on the right track
This video should give you some inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQRpUKPOJBQ
Those of you who have ever been to Berlin, will know just how good its going to be :) and for those who haven't, this is not one to be missed.
Now lets show these Berliners what London is all about!
Please note: Capacity is strictly limited to 400 people
HISTORY OF BAR25 AND KATERHOLZIG:
Bar 25 was one of Berlins most famous and vibrant electronic underground venues, known for its unique spirit, location and selection of music.
Starting off as a small wooden bar that offered the first few night owls an alternative to overcrowded clubs and mainstream parties, Bar25 quickly gained its reputation through word of mouth for being the-place-to be in Berlin’s electronic music scene.
A legend was born when the group of friends who started Bar 25 continued their work by adding a music stage, a fireplace, a restaurant, a sauna area with pool and private accommodation. Besides the unique location Bar25’s emphasis was to offer Berlins spoiled electronic scene the latest sounds offered by the best national and international DJ's. Bar25’s reputation spread throughout Europe and beyond becoming a reference for the sound of Berlin. After 7 years, the bar was closed in September 2010 after a five-day party.
What came after was KaterHolzig. Run in part by Christoph Klenzendorf, one of the main figures behind Bar25, KaterHolzig is a large indoor/outdoor club on the Spree in Kreuzberg. Much like Bar25, the outdoor section includes a dance floor in a wooden, cabin-like structure, plus a variety of places to sit near the water.
KaterHolzig holds the reputation as one of the most advanced and cutting edge party places in the world, and we are honoured to be bringing their sound to London for the very first time
