Sumo once again invites the purveyor of all things Tech Funk, Elite Force. The return of a true breakbeat pioneer, disregarding the boundaries of Breaks, House and Techno in his DJ sets, anything goes when this man's in town.
Shack has redeemed many guises but the most prominent being Elite Force. Starting his Elite Force project in 1997, with his new label (Fused & Bruised) and his acclaimed debut EP (Mainframe Wrecka),which quickly brought the attention of many a record label including Whole 9 Yards, Kingsize, TCR, Lot49, Thrust, Adrift to name a few. Now spanning more than a decade, Elite Force is taking things to a whole new level via his digital only label, U&A (Used & Abused to you and me!).
''Exciting times ahead for U&A as we kick it into 2008 with style. Coming soon are singles from two antipodean debutants on the label, starting with the mighty Butter Party who set all lazers to s.t.u.n. with their awesome single "Wriggle", sure to win over fans of that Dyson/Cirez sound. Also set to drop in the next couple of months is the debut offering for Aussie duo Hyperion, who come strong with a driving slab of techno-influenced tech-funk in their 'On the Expressway' track.
The biggest project on the label this year, however, is the digital release of much of the Elite Force back catalogue, including everything from the 'Fused & Bruised' catalogue, all the Elite Force 'Whole9Yards' releases including the debut 'No Turning Back' album, and the re-issuing of the 'Kingsize' & 'Adrift' catalogue. Over the past couple of months I've been trawling the old files and pulling remix parts off, and am thrilled to announce the involvement of the following producers in re-rubbing & remixing some of those older tracks to accompany the originals: Miles Dyson, Dylan Rhymes, Bassbin Twins, Rogue Element, Double Black, Zodiac Cartel, Meat Katie & Elite Force, Miles Dyson, Foamo, Dopamine, Kid Blue, Butter Party, Fine Cut Bodies, Calvertron, Core Overload, Zimbardo, Hyperion, Dan F, Gella, Tom Real & Black Russian, Jesse Rose, Hick Nurdmann, Trevor Loveys, Bearweasal, AMB and Deepgroove. More details will be announced regarding release dates, and specific tracks that are being remixed as well as projected release dates (singles will be staggered over the coming months), but needless to say it's an exciting time for U&A as we bowl on headlong into the '08.''
Exciting times from an exciting label and a truly exciting DJ. if anyone has as much energy behind the decks and gets more enjoyment out of doing it than Elite Force, I haven't met them yet. I need say no more.
