INTERNATIONAL GUESTS:
COZZY D
____________________________________________________________________________
The creative mind plays with the objects it loves. London’s underground electronic scene therefore has been littered with the ideas, designs and impulses of Cozzy D for over a decade now. His tireless work as producer, DJ, promoter and label owner has embedded his influence throughout every annex of the scene, thus yielding a far-reaching impact on dance music culture as a whole. Not only establishing himself as an essential artist through prolific productions and immersive DJ sets, Cozzy has also managed to help inspire a new generation of dance music enthusiasts through his record label and successful parties; revealing him as an instrumental part of London reclaiming its strong identity within the scene once again.
Pushing an eclectic take on deep house and techno, Cozzy’s music is emblazoned with soul and musicality backed up with potent basslines and expertly crafted beats. Quickly gaining him a reputation as a revered music maker, his versatile productions have seen release on prestigious labels such as Real Tone, Four:Twenty, 1Trax & Lower East, the imprint he runs alongside Lee Brinx and Dexter Kane.
At the start of 2012, Cozzy cemented his place at the forefront of a movement with the magnificent ‘Mythical Mystery’ EP on Lower East. Featuring the lush, tripped out jam ‘Aphrodite,’ the EP displays Cozzy’s ability to go far beyond the dancefloor and delivers a lasting musical snapshot of his time and place. As label co-owner, Cozzy presided over Lower East as it became one of the capital’s most celebrated underground labels throughout 2011. The imprint played a huge role in the revival of London-centric house and techno by unleashing a plethora of the city’s most promising emerging talents to the world. Artists like Alexis Raphael, Wildkats, Max Chapman and James Pople joined Lee Brinx, Dexter Kane and Cozzy himself on the label to raise the bar for all London based producers. Mixing home-grown talent with the best from abroad, Lower East have broadened their horizons further with the addition of international stars such as Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and Puente & Rosch whose anthemic ‘This Feeling’ became an instant DC-10 hit.
Cozzy also co-runs acclaimed Sunday party Crèche with Alexis Raphael. Already recognised as one of London’s biggest parties, Crèche will take its diverse sound and unbeatable atmosphere to a unique collection of both intimate and large-scale spaces throughout the year ahead. 2011 saw the party branch out into Ibiza, hosting parties at Delano Beach Club whilst venturing into ‘The Big One’ series of parties back in London. Recent guests have included Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Kerri Chandler, Maya Jane Coles and Shonky, not to mention residents Alexis Raphael and Cozzy who brings his inimitable DJ style with him to fuse deep house with a hint of nu-disco, techno and old skool garage vibes to subtlety build the crowd into frenzy.
A multi-faceted artist that truly understands underground culture, Cozzy D is not only carving out his own place in musical history, but helping those around him to create their own too. With each of his impressive projects going from strength to strength, his is a name that looks set only to grow in reputation and stature. The only question is just how far he can reach!

LEE BRINX
____________________________________________________________________________
Lee Brinx is a true stalwart of underground electronic music. His role as an east London based DJ, producer, label owner and promoter has put him at the centre of an underground scene that is starting to yield its influence the world over. Spreading his diverse musical manifesto far and wide, Lee has become an established name on the scene, garnering critical acclaim and respect throughout the industry.
It all started for Lee at a young age; growing up to the classic Motown, soul and Rare Groove records that his parents would boom throughout the house. These early years instilled a love of music in Lee that has continued to grow ever since. An accomplished guitarist in his own right, it is with electronic production however that Lee has truly flourished, with his music now gathering support from the likes of Sasha, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Steve Lawler, Droog, Clive Henry, Terry Francis, MANIK, Nic Fanciulli, X-Press 2 and many more.
Lee’s unfaltering love for underground electronic music has seen him explore many variations of the scene such is his lust for discovering new ideas, concepts and philosophies. His penchant for garage grooves is still a distinct feature of his music today, but is now combined with deep beats, melodic basslines and a warm and soulful exterior picked up elsewhere on the way. Lee’s palette is broad but refined to say the least; whatever style he happens to be indulging in today is sure to be done to his usual impeccable standards. As a DJ, Lee displays a cultured finesse as he subtly builds through varying moods, atmospheres and tempos with a genre-defying collection of records at hand. His eclectic approach to DJing is on show perhaps like nowhere else at famed London party Crèche, where Lee holds a renowned residency. One of London’s biggest parties, Lee regularly lines up alongside the likes of Kerri Chandler, Shonky, Damian Lazarus and Maya Jane Coles.
His productions are equally as varied as his DJ sets, proving his ability to mix up styles whilst keeping a fresh and unique sound. ‘Computer Love’ from Hot Waves Vol 2 is a wonderfully idiosyncratic track that merges subtle melodies with deep, rolling bass. Productions and remixes alongside label cohorts such as Cozzy D, Wildkats and Kanio display his deft ability in the studio in addition to his knack for implementing collaborative ideas and translating them into cohesive dance tracks.
Lee also co-runs one of the most respected underground labels in the UK. Lower East, established by Lee and friends Cozzy D and Ed Kane in 2010, is already now one of the most highly acclaimed imprints in London, regularly receiving plaudits from the highest ranks for their monthly releases. Alongside the three owners who all produce on the label, Lower East boats the best in home grown talent in addition to emerging talent from around the world as part of their roster. London based acts such as Alexis Raphael, Wildkats, Robert James and Max Chapman join international stars Puente & Rosche, Pezzner and Lee Foss, making Lower East a pivotal establishment within the scene.
Lee is also the man behind notorious Maidstone party, Off Key. Originally started in 2009 as a daytime party on bank holiday Sundays, Off Key has quickly grown under Lee’s guidance to become one of the most celebrated events in the south-east UK. Hosted in unique, outdoor spaces, the party has a loyal and ever expanding fan base that have witnessed the likes of Sasha, Carl Craig and Dennis Ferrer as headline guests at the night.
A permanent feature on East London’s prominent underground club culture, Lee Brinx is now ready to take the rest of the world on. With a wise head on his shoulders and an in-depth knowledge of the mixer within, Lee is sure to make the leap. Let’s just hope they are ready for him...

Thinking outside of the box and breaking all the rules...
Samron moved to the UK when he was twenty years old, cutting his teeth on the iconic East London party scene. Having pushed his sound from bar gigs in Brisbane to guest spots in Glastonbury, Samron is now in the studio working alongside production talent from labels such as Lower East, Hot Natured and Resonance.

JAMES PETROU
____________________________________________________________________________
He may not be tall enough to play in the NBA but James Petrou is a rising star on the music scene. During a period in electronic music in which every second person is a DJ or producer his passion for good music and eclectic sound sets him apart from the herd.
Born in Bringelly and raised on a farm, James grew up on a diet of classic rock, disco and funk and these early influences permeate his style. Far more concerned with the quality of a tune and its ability to elicit a reaction in the listener than its genre or what record label it’s on James’ music is a forward thinking blend of throbbing bass-lines, groovy drums and tweaked vocals all designed to get the sweat dripping off the walls.
Like many modern day artists his love affair with electronic music started on the other side of the turntables. He fell in love with house music in the late nineties and hasn’t looked back. A true music lover if he isn’t in the studio or behind the decks he is probably losing it on a dance floor somewhere...
