Meandyou. presents XDB, Vessel, Juniper & Joy Orbison photo gallery
For our next party we've invited back XDB, someone we consider to be one of the best selectors operating today. We also welcome left_blank & Tri Angle record's Vessel, who will be playing a live set. Support on the night comes from residents Juniper and Joy Orbison.
Kosta Athanassiadis aka XDB has slowly been making a name for himself over the past decade as both a dj and producer, releasing music on his own imprint Metrolux Music, Sistrum Recordings, Echocord, Wave Music, Dolly and Habour City Sorrow. Athanassiadis' taste and musical knowledge is widely documented, often being credited with having an encyclopedic knowledge of electronic music. His dj set's are often varied, covering a wide spectrum of sounds including detroit techno and electro, deep and dubby house, synth wave amongst other styles. His set at this year's Freerotation festival was one of the highlights of the weekend, which is no easy task when you consider the wealth of talent on this years line up. XDB returns to spin for us again after a 2 year absence.
Vessel is the alias of 22 year old Sebastian Gainsborough, a member of the impressive Young Echo collective based in Bristol. He first came to our attention in 2011 via a cassette on the Astro:Dynamics imprint, then again later that year on Left_Blank, his sound leaning towards his Bristolian roots of bass music. This year saw him release the excellent 'Standard EP' on left_blank and his highly regarded debut LP, 'Order of Noise' on Tri Angle. His sound shifting towards the cloudy realm that sits between techno and experimental electronics.
Support on the night comes from residents Juniper and Joy Orbison. Juniper has recently gained recognition through a series of releases for Smallville, Underground Quality and Ominira. Joy Orbison continues to build on his reputation as one of the UK's leading dj's and producers, having recently compiled his first Resident Advisor podcast. his residency gives him a rare opportunity to explore and dig deeper into different spheres of electronic music.
