Seeing as this NYE sees Content host it's first ever end of year party, we thought we'd pull out all the stops and bring you not one, not two, but THREE guest DJs over two floors of Content musical mayhem.
Delano Smith – Taking control of the basement will be Delano Smith making his long awaited return to Content. Delano was one of our first ever guests back in 2010 and if you were there, you'll know that he absolutely rocked the house. Inspired and mentored by Detroit's answer to Larry Levan - the late great Ken Collier, Delano DJed on the disco scene in the 70's and in the 80's he was resident at some of the first house music clubs in Detroit, where he inspired a certain Derrick May to get into DJing. In the 90's Delano joined forces with Mike Clarke and Norm Talley, to set up the infamous Beat Down Sounds crew. Together they threw legendary parties and contributed to the Detroit Beatdown compilation on Third Ear Recordings. At this time Delano started his own Mixmode imprint and increased his production output with subsequent remixes and releases on Still Music, Sushitech, Real Tone, Third Ear and Undertones all receiving widespread critical praise and his debut album “An Odyssey” out this year doing huge amounts of dancefloor damage the world over.
Cottam & OOFT! - Upstairs, we will be installing a Funktion One sound system and turning the bar into a proper club space, with two of the UK's finest DJ/Producers bringing us the party vibes:
Cottam shot to notoriety in 2009 with three limited edition 12”s that blew up the underground deep house and nu-disco scenes with no advertising and no info – combining neo-soul, afrobeat and hip hop with slo-mo house grooves. All three sold out in double quick time and ended up in many ‘best of 2009’ charts. Since then he has perfected his own style of sub-aquatic acid house with releases and remixes on Aus Music, Delusions Of Grandeur, Wolf Music and previous Content guests Deep Space Orchestra's Use of Weapons imprint.
OOFT a.k.a Ali Heron began his career with tracky edits and some early OOFT! remixes alongside The Revenge. Since then, he has been putting out a series of deep, pitched-down house tracks on labels such as Instruments of Rapture, PPF, Delusions of Grandeur, Wolf Music and of course, his own Foto Recordings.
As Content events become ever more popular, we're certain that our first NYE party with three awesome acts will be the hottest ticket in town and the best way to see in the New Year, so we advise you bag yourself a ticket while you can...
