Update...

We have 2 important pieces of news regarding our NYE event. The first is that we have made a venue change that we feel will guarantee a fantastic party, moving the event from The Bunker in Hackney Wick to The Bussey Building in Peckham. This was a positive move on our part as opposed to it being forced upon us as there were some issues arising beyond our control with the original location.

Of course we could all do without such changes but its paramount on such a big night of the year that we are 100% happy that we will have a guaranteed fantastic party with no problems jeopardising this. We have a great track record with the Bussey Building, throwing parties there for 2 years and feel its an excellent choice for NYE. Full premises license, great facilities, excellent sound, easy transport links and certainly more cosy than a warehouse make this a clear winner for NYE. Not only this but the venue move now gives us the opportunity of 2 rooms of music allowing us to give artists extended set times and party goers more choice and different vibes.

The second major piece of news is that we are adding Chicago based artist Amir Alexander to the line up. Amir has made serious waves in 2012, dropping killer EP's and remixes on the likes of Deep Vibes, Hype Ltd, Rekids and his own Vanguard Sound. He is definitely one of the most exciting artists to breakthrough from the windy city in 2012 with his sound being an amalgamation of the roots of his hometown but also displaying a great versatility and a strong edge that marks him out as a unique artist. His DJ gigs are already in demand with other dates on this tour confirmed at Panorama bar and Praterei in Vienna amongst others.

...
It's that time again….and we have as usual put together a bash befitting the occasion. Last years New Years Eve party at the Troxy with Ame, Levon Vincent, Kyle Hall, George Fitzgerald and co was off the chain and this promises to be of the same high quality.

Headlining this party we have invited our favorite producer of 2012 Andres (Mahogani / La Vida). His re-released tracks from the vaults on his La Vida imprint which include 'New For You' and the recently released 'Second Time Around' are 2 of the biggest selling 12" this year worldwide crossing over from house to hip hop DJs. They have a classic, slick, funk disco house sound and its no surprise that none other than Moodymann signed his 2 LP's Andres 1 and 2 up to his Mahogani music label. His CV is impeccable with collaborations with Amp Fiddler, Moodymann and none other than the late, great J Dilla! His DJ sets are much lauded and cover house, hip hop, funk and soul so we thought his vibe perfect for NYE.

Joining us for the second time in months is none other than Martyn - Live (3024). Martyn was the headliner at our closing party this year at Oval Space in September and loved playing for us so much that he emailed us to ask when he could play again. We could not turn this opportunity down but this time have him performing live. After touring his first live set over the last year he promises to have a new live set ready for NYE! Martyn should need no introduction but of course is known for his unique sound both production and DJ wise which incorporates house, techno, bass, you name it, some simply call it 'Martyn music'. Of course his LP was released this year on Flying Lotus' trail blazing Brain Feeder imprint to much acclaim form media worldwide.

Our 3rd and final guest for this special night is another artist who is no newcomer but has totally re-invented himself under a new alias. Known for his slick, more soulful drum n bass productions as Marcus Intalex over the last 15 years he has now been transformed himself into Trevino! Using his high end production skills but focussing on more 4x4, yet still futuristic grooves he has released stand out tracks this year on Applepips, Naked Lunch his own Revolver and Craig Richard's 'The Nothing Special' imprint. He has without doubt been another favourite producer for as at secretsundaze this summer so its also with pleasure we can reveal he has remixed the next secretsundaze record from our very own James Priestley and Marco Antonio entitled 'Speed' released in December. Big tings for sure!

So all in all, secretsundaze once again steps up with a forward thinking line up not relying on the same tired old names and with residents Giles Smith and James Priestley always guiding the ship this is sure to be another memorable NYE in secretsundaze's company with a new exciting venue to boot.

Love,

secretsundaze xx

Mon, 07 Jan 2013I had a great night. Just the heat in room 1 made everything so unbearable.

I realise that is not directly the promoters fault as they don't own the venue...but would like to know if they (and other promoters) ever put pressure on venue owners to make sure these things are up to par. Its not a big outlay in the scheme of things. But fans pushing hot air around are not a solution.

Trevino and Martyn were brilliant.

Mon, 07 Jan 2013Really enjoyed it, quirky venue and great music across all 3 rooms. The soul and funk in room 3 made a great respite.

Just about recovered now...

Thu, 03 Jan 2013I had a reasonable time.
Trevino & Martyn were the highlights.
Thought the sound system in room 1 was fine. Room 2 sounded a bit like a 12 years olds birthday party in a local church hall - would have spent more time in there if the sound was up to par (also didn't open at 11 as stated). Only time I went in room 3 was to use the cloakroom.
Room 1 was pretty hot due to 90% of attendees being in there - but if you got near one of the fans it was much more manageable. Embrace the... More

Wed, 02 Jan 2013What a let down. Zero effort made to make anything special, interesting, different? Rooms half empty. Hugely male heavy crowd. Clearly in it for the mash! POOR!
