We're very pleased to welcome our next guest to The Mercat Basement this summer, none other than Stuttgart's SoulPhiction.
Michel Baumann, perhaps better known as SoulPhiction (or Jackmate), has been mastering his craft behind the decks for over 2 decades. Starting out as a hip-hop DJ in the mid 80s, it wasn't until 1991 that Baumann suddenly decided to immerse himself in four-to-the-floor dance music.
Since then, Baumann has never looked back, clocking up a number of impressive releases on an array of respected labels such as Pampa, Perlon, Playhouse, Mosaic, Musik Krause, Freude am Tanzen, Sonar Kollektiv, Poker Flat and Morris Audio, as well as his own Philpot records.
A unique and versatile producer and DJ, it's hard to pin SoulPhiction down to only one style. Needless to say, we're excited to hear what he brings to Australia in December.
