Aaron Dilloway, Jason Lescalleet, Massaacooramann
Aaron Dilloway (ex-Wolf Eyes, Hanson) and Jason Lescalleet (Chondritic Sound, Erstwhile): Solo/Solo/Duo at The Bobby Redd Project Space @ 626 Bushwick Avenue

w/ DAVE QUAM aka Massaacooramann [Fade to Mind] DJing between/after sets

The Bobby Redd Project @ 626 Bushwick Avenue is a former Lutheran cathedral which in 2012 was reinvented as a contemporary arts venue, and has been host to theater, dance, circus, gallery openings, film screenings, and more. With floor to ceiling stained glass windows, a 30 foot high pipe organ, and soaring arched ceilings, the space is an amazing backdrop for all performance. We hope that this night will further serve in the desacralization of this once holy space.

AARON DILLOWAY [Universal Indians, Wolf Eyes, Spine Scavenger] is one of the original members of the acclaimed harsh noise supergroup Wolf Eyes. It has been over two years since his last solo performance in NYC. In 2012 Aaron released "Modern Jester," a record which he spent 3 years working on and was hailed as "one of the most accomplished noise albums of the last several years," [Resident Advisor] and saw him called "one of the great solo figures of modern noise" [Dusted Magazine]. A magnum opus of junk noise loop meditations and aural hypnosis, Aaron's subliminal tape manipulations have never lost any of the brutal intensity that have always colored his work. Aaron has collaborated with artists such as Kevin Drumm, C. Spencer Yeh, Hive Mind, Robert Turman, Emeralds, Prurient, and more. This being a rare NYC performance and a pairing with the one and only Jason Lescalleet, it is easy to say that his performances this night are NOT to be missed.

JASON LESCALLEET (b. 1968, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA) explores a sound world that occupies a space between noise, contemporary composition, and minimal electronics. Using decidedly primitive tactics and equipment his work focuses on microscopic audio detail set awash in exaggerated and exploited site-specific acoustics. He has released recordings on such labels as Erstwhile, RRR, Intransitive Recordings, Kye, Celebrate Psi-Phenomenon, Hanson Records, Chondritic Sound and his own label, Glistening Examples. Jason has collaborated with Graham Lambkin, Phill Niblock, Joe Colley, John Hudak, Greg Kelley, Rafael Toral, Thomas Ankersmit, Ron Lessard (as Due Process), and nmperign. Lescalleet has built a solid reputation for delivering a visceral live experience in his concert performances. He lives in Maine.

DAVE QUAM is a musical chameleon. A music journalist, improvisational sound artist, global bass producer, and DJ, Dave helped bring the underground Chicago dance phenomenon known as footwork to the forefront of today's international music scene, and in 2012 released his first EP as Massacooramann on LA label Fade To Mind. Having also released with Chicago trumpet man Graham Stephenson, and a forthcoming release on new Erstwhile imprint ErstAEU, a venue for young american improvisers, despite new directions Dave shows no signs of settling down in one place. Very pleased to have him be soundtracking part of this night for us, and, as usual, no clue of what he might pull out of his bag of tricks for this.

This event is a celebration of the 2012 year for both artists, namely their albums "Modern Jester" [Hanson Records, Dilloway] "Songs About Nothing" [Erstwhile Records, Lescalleet] and "Grapes and Snakes" [PAN Records, Lescalleet/Dilloway]. Each of these records, unique in their own right, have been lauded as some of the strongest experimental releases in recent years, and all occupy new, exciting territory in contemporary music. It is our pleasure to present this rare opportunity to see two of the most versatile experimental music artists today playing both individually and collaboratively, in a beautiful, highly unique space, with a full sound system, and delivering no holds barred performances.
