On the first day of December, Thomas Franzmann aka Zip, will be coming to Farringdon to shine a light on his imminent fabric 67 CD. Throughout his journey of sparse, disjointed techno full of precision and dancefloor wrecking tools, Zip defines a sound all his own a mean feat for someone who is largely credited with bringing the influence of some of the finest electronic musicians from across the world to the ears of multiple generations of listeners housing via his Perlon imprint. In Room One, Zip and Baby Ford go head to head in the booth next to Craig Richards and they’ll be joined by the elusive Montreal based producer Akufen otherwise known as Horror, Inc. as he performs a fascinating live show of micro house rarities.

Phillip Sollmann’s production alias Efdemin first emerged on the celebrated deep house imprint Dial Recordings back in 2001 and after a slew of EPs and albums for the label he arrived on point again with his Chicago LP last year. His alluring Berlin techno sound will be travelling all corners of Room Two next to David Brown of Swayazk as he presents his new compelling concept: SWZK live and arrives off the back of his new EP on Tresor.

One Records label boss Adam Shelton returns to his infamous Room Three slot with co-founder Subb-an and Burnski and as this is their last One Records party of 2012, they’ll undoubtedly be closing the curtains in glowing fashion.

Sat, 13 Apr 2013This one is a grower. I listened to it a few times when it first came in the mail and it never really clicked so it sat on the shelf for a while. Put it back on a week or so ago and I'm really digging it now.

Fri, 22 Feb 2013I re-upped my fabric cd subscription for this but after giving it a few listens, felt ultimately disappointed.

The first 4 tracks made me think it would be a really special mix, but mid-way through it's just bogs down into really standard, boring tech house, and then the ending is just 'classic' sounding Detroit deep techno. Nothing wrong with that, but nothing very innovative or interesting either. I thought that Kenny Larkin track was particularly boring.

I know Zip is an amazing live... More

Fri, 11 Jan 2013I got this CD for Christmas and I've listened to it. Anybody who tells me it's shit needs to get their fucking pipes cleaned.

Fabric 67 by DJ Zip is non-stop Ket-House at it's very best. If you're one of the Shoreditch squares who'd rather smoke weed and listen to Shackleton or John Digweed PLEASE fuck off back to Hoxton Square and overdose on donk you fat, bearded, long haired muthafuckers. DJ Zip is whose tip we're on right now. And forever.

Who's with me?
