ANDY BAXTER: BIOGRAPHY
Andy Baxter is a DJ with the innate ability to read any dance floor. There is no finer example than his home base of Pacha Ibiza, where he has covered every genre of music over his ten-year stint as year-round resident and international touring artist.
From Balearic sounds, hip-hop, disco and rare groove to deep, melodic tech house, 2011 saw an increase in demand for his main room sets, warming up for Defected, Cadenza, All Gone Pete Tong and Subliminal. Andy’s constantly evolving technical skills led to a role as host of the Pioneer Lab on the rooftop terrace, demonstrating the latest equipment to visiting international artists.
Additional residencies include a fourth season with the legendary We Love… Sundays at Space, season number five with iconic Ibiza sunset institution Café Mambo, plus a weekly debut at high-end beach club El Chiringuito and on-island resident duties for luxury and VIP event specialists The Shop.
An unrelenting passion for new music also scored Baxter the enviable role of A&R scout for seminal label Defected, after head honcho Simon Dunmore spotted his ear for new talent in 2010. His extensive musical knowledge and constantly evolving technical skills have seen him tour the globe numerous times over and after rediscovering his passion for playing records, Baxter’s own monthly event at Pacha, The Vinyl Fix was born.
Throughout winter 2012, Andy embarked on multiple new studio productions and he continues to present his own weekly program on Ibiza Sonica. The Fix airs at 10pm on Wednesdays, featuring upfront music ranging from deep house and broken beats to disco and peak time madness, with over 7000 listeners worldwide.

After another amazing season Residing in Ibiza, this has been the best summer on record for Baxter, he even managed to scoop the best Ibiza DJ, at this years DJ awards.

This year saw Baxter spinning more in the Main Room of Pacha from the opening to the closing of Pete Tong’s All Gone night, and a resident spinning for the legendary Defected in the house, plus numerous requests from Erick Morillo asking for Baxter to warm the Subliminal floor. This year the global room for Vagabundos was a new permanent residency where Baxter would spin vinyl only sessions.

Other residencies this summer included an extra day spinning at the beautiful El Chiringuito, Putting the sun to bed at the legendary cafe Mambo after five years, and a new weekly residency an the original Rock bar Ibiza. This led to Baxter completing 180 gigs in total from April till the El Chiringuito closing, which was the official closing of summer, Where Baxter warmed up for the brilliant Groove Armada.

This year saw Baxter as the official resident DJ for the 123 festival, playing the full 3 days in between all of the acts including Sting, Elton John and Sting.
