There rarely is a musician to be seen, who feels home in more than just one musical genre the way Matthias Vogt does. Who else can claim himself being booked in the hottest clubs around the globe and additionally being respected as a brilliant jazz musician at the same time? Particularly in producing electronic music, Vogt is able to bring his experience as a jazz-musician to account in a way that surely is unique in contemporary house-music.
Vogt's music has been released on handpicked labels: he is working with mighty Chicago based Large Music, UK imprint Urbantorque, Paris deepest Komplex de Deep, New York's Saw Recordings, the label of house-legends Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero, plus Frankfurt's finest Polytone Records, Leeds based Fullbarr imprint and Fred Everything's Lazy Days Recordings. Matthias tracks consistently receive amazing feedback of big name dj's like Jimpster, Joris Voorn, Sven Väth, Paul Woolford, Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink or Karotte. A DJ since the early nineties, Matthias experienced dance music's fast growing and constantly altering change as a part of Frankfurt's vital club scene. For several years Vogt played regurlarly at Sven Väth’s Cocoonclub. He has also played gigs at clubs such as The End in London, Club 11 Amsterdam, Tresor Berlin, Cielo New York or Arma 17 in Moscow. Furthermore, there have been plenty of dj-gigs in many countries around the globe like Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary or Latvia.
Matthias is founder and one half of the highly acclaimed duo Motorcitysoul. Under the Motorcitysoul moniker they released several groundbreaking records on highly acclaimed house imprints like Freerange, Simple, Aus Music and of course Stir 15 & Lofi-Stereo, the labels of his Motorcitysoul partner Christian „C-Rock“ Rindermann.
Together with Ian Pooley, who is without a doubt one of Germany's most influential house producers of all time, Vogt forms M.V.I.P.- another very promising cooperation (Aviator EP / Pooled, Barrique EP / Lazy Days).
