WE ARE E Presents: FAIRMONT ▬▬▬
When the old man in the red cloak has just left our country and every child is enjoying new toys and leftover candy, We Are E will return to Studio 80 with a dance floor present that comes straight from the cutting edge between techno and indie. A fully analogue live set from FAIRMONT.
After having released EP’s on imprints such as Traum and Kompakt it was with the big hit ‘Gazebo’ and his ‘Coloured In Memory’ album that this Canadian experimentalist made a name for himself amongst those who like their techno music a bit more melodic and rock influenced. No wonder that this album appeared on James Holden’s Border Community, a brand known for it’s attraction on a more alternative crowd. The following ‘3 Cities EP’ and ‘Velora’ (again on BC) showed even more signs of an on-going journey into deep sounds, dark vocals and pure analogue frameworks. This last passion is also reflected in his live shows and the upcoming album Automaton on My Favorite Robot. Jake (Fairley) is one of the few artists who trigger al their sounds straight from the gear, without the interference of a laptop. Unique!
To accompany this innovative mind-set We Are E arranged for some support from the high ranks of the capitals underground scene. OLIVER WEITER will leave his peak time tracks at the door and take a look at the deeper parts of his collection to get things in motion. After playing a beautiful opening set during Junes edition and making a bold industry statement about music distribution with his free label Ex, PATRICE BAUMEL gets to close the party in studio one down with the atmospheric sounds that can only be described as his own.
Once again studio two will be handed over to a new, young and fresh organisation. This time the people from ‘De Beat Industrie’ get to show what their made of. In just under two years they made quite the name for themselves. After hosting warehouse parties in Haarlem called ‘Grenzeloods’ which are a huge hit with a loyal following they now hope to successfully land their circus in Amsterdam’s number one underground club. Bringing to the table a live set from WAE’s new young buck ZWAAN and dj sets from Beat Industrie’s residents SJEROEM and VERDI this will surely be no problem at all. With their blend of house, techno and everything in between they will easily transform room two into a steaming factory.
