The Pavilion are delighted to announce that David Moufang, better known by his stage alias of MOVE D will join us for his debut show in Cork on Friday, November 23rd. Hailing from Heidelberg in southwestern Germany, Move D was first subjected to the clubbing experience in the renowned Milk! Club in nearby Mannheim. Within 3 years of this he had released his first record on Source Recordings, along with Jonas Grossmann, as Deep Space Network. Moufang has been nothing short of prolific ever since, releasing a plethora of Eps, 12”s and albums under his own name on labels such as Smallville, Workshop, Warp and Running Back since 1995, and has gained recognition for his ongoing collaborations with artists such as Benjamin Brunn and Juju & Jordash (Magic Mountain High).
Moufang has never been one to stagnate and as Move D he is renowned for the quality of his vinyl only DJ sets as well as his productions, and his onstage engagement with the crowd, so prepare for a party atmosphere in The Pavilion!
John Hennessy is one half of the nationally renowned Sunday Times Soundsystem along with partner in crime Barry Walsh. He has been playing records for over a decade and is no stranger to the warm up slot having played alongside some fantastic international acts over the years including Levon Vincent, Carl Craig, Terrence Parker and Donnacha Costello.
“Since he first appeared on the scene in the mid-90s, David Moufang – to give him his real name – has proven to be a major force for good in house music, constantly seeking to evolve its grammar while at the same time honouring, and reinforcing, its most important traditions. ”
“Moufang and Brunn have long proved themselves bright, dedicated composers, but ‘Songs’ represents a new high for both: a careful, vibrant long-player from two unheralded 12” warriors that should make thoughts and soles move with equal grace. .”
