Housepitality has been trying to book Matthias "Matty" Heilbronn for some time, and the moment has finally arrived. Even if you aren't aware of it, you've probably heard a track or remix by Matthias, such is the extent of his output. Always in demand as a remixer, his talent both behind the decks and in the studio has led to his playing in almost all of the biggest clubs around the world (Ministry of Sound, Fabric, The End, Pacha, Es Paradis, Space, to name a few). We are honored to have him play at our intimate Wednesday night party.
Jimmy B is a busy man in our San Francisco house music underground. In between his work at SF's Monarch night club, his many DJ bookings (both underground and above ground), and promoting his party VOX, he has found time to become a veritable mastermind of the decks, and his recent sets at Burning Man and around SF have shown a true understanding of what it takes to get us (and keep us) dancing.
Finally, to open our night, we've booked yet another local hero for his Housepitality debut: Larry Gonnello Jr. Larry is the man behind SF's now-infamous Boombox Affair parties, which are characterized by a devotion to house and techno music, a slightly renegade approach to throwing events, and, last but not least, an array of old skool boomboxes (ghettoblasters) which are wired into a battery-powered PA system, and set up in various picturesque spots around the Bay Area. These parties have been attracting attention, both for the quality of their music, and for the beautiful locations in which they have been set. Larry is a devoted member of our underground, and also one of SF's most underappreciated vinyl DJs. We are so happy to finally have him play for us.
Groove lounge duties go to Joel Conway, aka Leo Jay, the man whose record collection barely leaves any space leftover for a bed in his room (I've seen it). This is what happens when someone has a thirst for vinyl so bad it resembles an addiction, and when that person also happens to work at a vinyl record store (Black Pancake records). As always, when we book Joel, we have confidence that he will arrive with the right selection of black vinyl goodies, and will keep the room going all night long.
