EASTERN ELECTRICS // URBAN NERDS // CONNECTED // STAUNCH // TRIX
Two of London’s great New Year’s Eve promoters join forces to keep the party going into the early hours with some very special guests DJs of the highest calibre. Seminal house brand and rising electronic festival Eastern Electrics partners with London’s original UK bass event Urban Nerds, uniting to present an enormous after party celebration, with additional rooms and surprises from leading underground nights Connected, Staunch and Trix.
The After Party takes place at iconic London venue, Ministry Of Sound, a club with a rich musical heritage and a pioneering past that’s made a major contribution to British club culture as it exists today. Taking place over the venue’s four rooms, this unique event looks to Ministry’s early days for an inspired, hedonistic start to 2013, defined by a rich musical ethos, bringing an amalgamation of sounds from some very special headliners, revealed in the morning.
Eastern Electrics will be crossing the road to Ministry Of Sound following an immense New Year’s Eve event at The Coronet headed up by Joy Orbison, Miguel Campbell, Eats Everything and Shonky. The brand sits deep in the foundations of London’s underground electronic dance scene, having forged a true house heritage for five years, cemented by a forward thinking bookings ethos responsible for bringing the likes of Jamie Jones, Steve Bug, Damian Lazarus and Maya Jane Coles early in their careers. Known for pioneering the most unusual, unused and boundary breaking spaces across the capital, following their groundbreaking 2012 Festival debut, next year is set to be a big one as Eastern Electrics Festival takes electronic music to new heights in August.
Urban Nerds will be descending on The After Party following a huge Warehouse session at new London Bridge venue, The Sidings, featuring an endless line-up of underground UK bass and post dubstep upstarts including Redlight, Bondax, Breach, Dark Sky and Eliphino. Approaching their 6th year in action, the Nerds were amongst the first in London to herald the multi genre sound that would become UK bass in its many forms and the first in their scene to take the music out of the club and into the warehouse, with a string of sell out nights and regular appearances at London’s Fabric and Snowbombing Festival, led by residents Rattus Rattus and Marcus Nasty.
Connected also head to Ministry from London Bridge, following a monstrous New Year’s Eve event at Cable headed up by one of this year’s biggest stars, the mighty Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen. Starting in 2005 for a small group of likeminded party people, Connected exploded onto the London club scene in a major way in November 2007 at the Ministry Of Sound, after ramming the prestigious venue for 5 successive months, plus taking over cities such as Brighton, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Manchester & Glasgow. With an eye for only the finest house and techno, the night has played host to the likes of Davide Squillace, Darius Syrossian, DJ Sneak, Matt Tolfrey, Waifs & Strays, Krankbrothers and many more, alongside a strong and beloved resident squad including Jesse James and Johnny Bloomfield. Expect big surprises from them at The After Party.
Staunch is the underground, fiercely independent brand bringing together the people defining London’s 4x4 movement. Formed by the heads behind leading label Swamp81, forthcoming imprint Schl Records and ATG, their Corsica Studios events have been defined by a string of out of the ordinary special guests and appearances from the likes of Loefah, Boddika, Midland, Alex Arnout, A Guy Called Gerald, Artwork, Dusky, Huxley, Dexter Kane and resident Klose One.
Trix are Eastern Electrics’ partner in crime on NYE, hosting a room at The Coronet with ones-to-watch Trikk, October and Chasing Kurt. Trix prides itself on exploring exceptional electronic styles and combinations, honing the hybrid of house, techno, experimental and more. Now considered a tastemaker in the capital, Trix has earned a reputation for finesse at London's nightlife programming, having championed artists from Mosca, Appleblim, Lone, Boddika, Simon Baker to Von Stroke's new favourite French Fries, and RBMA's Doc Daneeka, Eliphino and Deadboy.
These five titans come together to unite their bold underground programming ethos to present an epic After Party like no other, driven by some very special top-secret headliners and lots of surprises. It’s a family affair…
