Calling all Mayans, Shimmy ravers & misbehavers...welcome to the end of an era, the beginging of a new world ...
If you have not been paying attention to doomsdayers or John Cusack movies, December 21st 2012 is the day that many say the Mayans predicted the world would end.
So erring on the side of caution, we have decided to throw a Shimmy party well into the night. If armageddon is to reign down upon us, at least we'll go out raving!
NO ARTIFICIAL COLOURS
The DJ duo are the dominant force in the UK's house music scene; with their music consistently riding high in the Beatport Deep House charts they are receiving love from their peers and the industry alike. Never one to follow the crowd, No Artificial Colours have chosen an interesting mixture of UK and international labels to release their music on, all of which have gained attention from the likes of Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Lee Foss,Visionquest on the DJ side and from top outlets like Clash magazine, I-D mag, Beatport, Mixmag, the list goes on…
No Artificial Colours are Ryan Ellis and Lewis Wright, 2 friends hailing from South East London; the boys met when they kept finding themselves booked at the same gigs, and when they often got asked by promoters if they could play back-to-back, the pairing made perfect sense. Since meeting every day has been about music for them, playing it, searching it out and making it. Their sound is evolving all the time with their sets becoming more about their own music than other peoples and often favouring a deep underlying, hypnotic vibe with various acapellas, loops and tricks to keep things exciting.
MAX CHAPMAN
In 2011, Max Chapman stepped into the spotlight. Still aged only 23, Max’s quick rise to the forefront of the UK’s underground house circuit has come solely as a result of his own passion, energy and talent. Having purchased his first set of decks at the age of 15, Max was quickly spotted by local promoters, and soon became a regular guest at small parties all over the South East. Fast forward a few years, and Max is now being booked for some of the most prolific parties and venues in the UK, with Sankeys (Manchester), Back to Basics (Leeds), krankbrother (London) and Crèche (London) all falling for his crunching basslines and melodic grooves. With a hectic gig schedule up and down the UK and beyond, you can get ready for Max to bring that BASS to the dancedloor.
As always our two trusted residents Miss7 & Vilmos will be on point to kick off proceedings.
