DEFINITION was first run as a one-off, semi-private party in November 2007 as while there were a number of nights we liked in Edinburgh, none seemed to be giving us 100% of what we wanted

Rather ambitiously, our aim was to bring the the music of Sonar, Berlin, Fabric, Pressure, etc to the petite dancefloor of Red, but the friends, family and surprisingly high number of random people who came down and filled the 120 capacity venue seemed to have a good time and we were asked to do it again. So we did!!

You can now catch us doing our parties every couple of months at Red (see the events section) - Hope to see you on the dancefloor

The residents are Mark Balneaves, Martin Lightbody and Daragh Byrne who between them have played or been residents at many nights over the years including Beatroot, Diggin' Deeper, Freestyle and Subsound

Musically, expect underground house, electro, minimal and techno inspired by likes of Audion, Richie Hawtin, Ame, Border Community, Ivan Smagghe, LCD Soundsytem, JPLS, Tiefschwartz, Slam, Laurent Garnier, Gabriel Ananda, Loco Dice, Adam Beyer, Get Physical, BPitch Control, Alex Smoke, Chateux Flight, Villalobos, False, etc
