With a 14 hour NYD marathon session in sight, it may seem a little premature announcing a party before first stumbling into the bleak canvass of January with a fair share of Christmas weight -
counter balanced only by the lightness of our wallets. Putting to bed those farfetched detox promises we all know so well, mono_cult will square up to the new year blues with an intimate gathering of like-minded friends in a yet to be disclosed venue.

2013 will see mono_cult welcome back Motor City export and seminal artist Theo Parrish to Leeds with a Padora’s Box of choice cuts, carefully wrapped in his own eclectic DJ style. Theo has undoubtedly become one of Detroit’s best known exports. As a producer, he has stamped his authority on a multitude of genres spanning nearly two decades. His disco reshape series, Ugly Edits have been known to sell for upwards of £100 and alongside Moodymann, Rick Wilhite and Marcellus Pittman, Theo forged the seminal 3 Chairs project, cementing himself into the city’s fabric. His back catalogue is not only a collector’s obsession but diverse and introspective - drawing influences from house, techno, disco, funk, soul, broken beat and world music yet, resulting in a musician who is impossible to define and label.

As a performer Theo is unique, often emulated but never matched. The man needs no real introduction. We all know his credentials and his unrivalDed reputation from ‘Falling Up’ to his latest cut for Rush Hour, Hand Made. The guy is still an innovator. Still a legend.
We present...Theo Parrish

i came when you had theo at Eiger Studios, and the sound was a bit disappointing, great if you were bang centre of the rig but lacking impact elsewhere.

shit, this is so out of date i guess i should just STFU.

this was a genuine comment.
I'd just got around having a look at the pics and thought 'I'll see if anyone has commented on the event'
sorry if you don't like my opinion.

Sun, 17 Feb 2013We use Martin Audio system for our pop up parties, and felt it was good for the space. Theo was also happy with the rig during soundcheck too.

Comments taken on board though.

Hopefully we'll be doing another party there soon.

Mon, 04 Feb 2013Theo parrish was good, but it was difficult to hear what he was playing. The sound was awful to be honest all the time I was there. Nice venue, but a decent sound system is a must for me given I'm out to listen to music. I'd have a word with whoever you hired in for it.
