| ABOUT THE ARTISTS |
Few producers can claim to have shaped dance music as much as Marc Kinchen, AKA MK. He not only defined the house sound of the early '90s, but also elevated the art of the remix to new levels, consistently transforming lacklustre pop music into genuine dance floor gold. His dub version of Nightcrawlers' "Push the Feeling'' is as big a record as they come, so well-known the producer's never met a person who hasn't heard it.
MK hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1993 and 1994 with the song"Love Changes." He also recorded the underground house music classic anthem, "Burning." "MK also hit the dance chart with "4 You," using the pseudonym 4th Measure Men, remixed and created the iconic remix for NIGHTCRAWLERS' "PUSH THE FEELING ON" almost 20 years later which was used for the basis of Pitbull's international hit record, Hotel Room. Latest remixes and productions in 2011 and 2012 include Lana Del Ray, Dev, Enrique Iglesias, Ellie Goulding, Crosstown Rebels, Jamie jones, Lee Foss, and Tricky.
the Ital moniker emerged in 2011 with a series of EPs for 100% Silk, when Daniel Martin-McCormick, who played in Mi Ami, Black Eyes and as Sex Worker, started making straight-ahead dance music. By 2012, he made the move to the estimable Brighton-based electronic label Planet Mu. He's been touring all over Europe and Asia in 2012, including Sonar Festival in Barcelona, as well as opening up for acts like Chris & Cosey and a U.S. tour with Laurel Halo.
LA Vampires is the dark musical brainchild of former Pocahaunted member Amanda Brown, founder of the 100% Silk label and co-founder of California noise and drone label Not Not Fun. Together with partner and co-founder of Not Not Fun, Britt Brown, they DJ dance music ranging from funky post punk to underground disco and 90's house.
Bobby Browser is the moniker of Andre Fereirra, formerly of Party Effects, Global Warning and Wav Dwgs who is well-known for his vintage-sounding, classic-house-inspired tracks.
Local Los Angeles producer, Leech, also known as Brian Foote will be playing a live set! Leech's tracks have been described as "a straightforward disco-house tune went through a paper shredder before producer Brian Foote taped it all back together while blindfolded. There's no easy four-on-the-floor to keep you grounded on this one, and instead the tune employs a complex array of kicks, claps, and hi-hats that patter about behind swirling synth production."-XLR8R
DONUTS Founder and resident DJ PICKPOCKET, a.k.a. Kat Matutina,, recently moved back to Los Angeles (after 10 years) with an 8 year period in San Francisco and some time in NYC. Pickpocket spins a variety of records ranging from rare disco and boogie, to acid house, detroit, freestyle, baltimore club, ghetto tech, italo, dutch electro, post punk, minimal/synth wave, freestyle, cosmic synth and 90's house. Donuts has been creating parties with both live bands and up and coming DJs since 2006 which began in San Francisco, and eventually occasionally spread to New York and Los Angeles. Donuts has been dedicated to bringing artists together where people can experience both live music and DJs and dance to new and vintage sounds in a fun, underground atmosphere complete with lasers, visuals, and free donuts at every party!
